Me too. Though some DFH is starting to tempt me. I have some of the Pearl Jam Twenty special release DFH that I need to drink.

  9. Right now I am drinking my last Goose Island Mild Winter Ale, which has been a pleasant find. Will definitely pick this up again next winter.

I stopped by Marino's Beverage Depot in Sylvania OH on Thursday night specifically to purchase a supply of interesting beer. Which I did. :D

Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale had a few of these a few weeks ago, very good 8.19 ABV
Old Speckled Hen had this in London last October, liked it enough for a second try 5.2 ABV
    Tres Blueberry Stout 7.50 ABV
Left Hand Milk Stout 6.00 ABV
    Breckinridge Vanilla Porter 4.70 ABV
Bell's Third Coast Beer 4.80 ABV

    Water for me right now.

I've had the Left Hand Milk Stout before, good stuff. The Breckinridge Vanilla Porter isn't bad either. By my other experience with Bell's beers, i'd expect the Third Coast to be good as well.

  11. Every Bells I have had is good. Not sure where to start. :D

Usually the same as you do wine, the lighter stuff to the heavier/darker stuff.

Sometimes, if you drink something light (and I'm talking flavor, not just color) after something heavy and full bodied, your palate is too overwhelmed by the previous flavors to really register it properly.

  15. Breckinridge Vanilla Porter.

Definitely is vanilla. Coffee and caramel overtones. Malty. Very dark but not as heavy as I expected. Maybe a little too bitter for my taste. Maybe the next five will change my mind.

    A&W Root Beer.

I almost never drink soft drinks, but someone left this at my house after we had a bunch of people over. It's been forever since I've had root beer. When I was a kid we had an old fashioned A&W drive in place that made A&W root beer on the premises. IIRC, it was the last independent place allowed to produce root beer as A&W root beer before it closed. Good times. :)

    Water now.

But I'm thinking tonight I'll pull out a George Gale's Prize Old Ale. It was a gift from a friend who said it's very hit or miss at this age (bottled in 1996), but this one has been stored properly since purchased, so we'll see.
