TFP MineCraft

I have opened up my server to TFPers - enjoy!

It is a 10 slot server, so don't all rush over at one time . I need to check to see when it expires - if there is enough interest I will renew it and maybe toss some more slots on there. IP/Port: 72.51.34.136:29665 - if it asks for a password, put in "goocrafters"

If you are going to be there regularly, let me know and I will assign you a personal plot of land.

Also, at 0,0 I have placed some welcome chests, please only take one per person.

 

Ok, I've been wanting to jump onto the minecraft bandwagon for while, I'm not sure how minecraft servers work tho. Care to fill me in?

 

FYI - I have claimed -1,1 through -1024,1024...

TFP Common area is 1,-1 through 2050,-2050

 

Ok, didn't see the claimed land, might have to move... Nope! Hope to see some of you online.

Lordeden - basically just play minecraft, but with other people.

Shall we discuss some ground rules for the TFP common area? Like, no building where others are building, etc? No clear cutting forests without replanting? Beach raping, yay or nay?

What is minecraft? Is there a thread or anything someone could direct me to? I like games!

 

Minecraft is like survival lego. Everything you build with is contained in the environment, you have to seek it out and craft it using various recipes. Here's a link to the wiki for the recipes.

In short: Minecraft is fucking awesome. It is still in beta, which means it's slightly cheaper than it would be. It's 15 euro now. Here's the link to the purchase site

 

Oh, forgot to mention that there is a day/night cycle, and monsters come out at night (or in the dark when you mine) so you need to plan for that and survive.

 

my daughter loves this game...but she is 12

 

I encourage her to keep playing. Learning redstone circuitry is an excellent introduction to electrical engineering and binary programming.

 

she is starting middle school next week and it is an engineering magnet school. one of her classes is an engineering fundamentals class that uses legos. it's called Lego League. she's never expressed an interest in being an engineer, but i certainly encourage her to pursue any thing she enjoys that could expand her understanding of technology. it never hurts.

Wow I spent way too much time playing this over the past two days. Fun stuff!

So after going on vacation for a bit and taking a break, I decided to log in and continue building my rail network. But it told me I'm banned from the server? Sad panda.

 

Yeah I got that banned message as well
