Simba is breathing abnormally this morning and he has a fever.
Skipping morning classes to take him into work and let the doc take a look at him.
    I hope it's the prednisone.
    I'm a little freaked out.

There are usually noise ordinances in effect during those hours. The police could talk to them. A note on their door that this will happen in the near future might stop it, though.

Hopefully it's just the meds and nothing more serious. Keep us posted.

I'm keeping hopeful. It doesn't help that we had a cat come in last Friday with similar breathing and was diagnosed w. CHF. That kitty didn't make it.

BUT, Simba has been in twice the last month and his bloodwork has been good and his heart/breathing has been normal. So it's prob. something less worrisome. Still, you know, he's my boy.

Stanley had a giant infected cyst a couple months ago that we had to get tested for cancer. Fortunately it was nothing, but for the two days waiting for the results I hated to think if it was. So I can somewhat sympathize.

Obviously some people take it too far, but when you have a really good dog it's hard not to humanize them a bit. My wife's grandma, after spending most of a weekend at our house with family, put it best. "He doesn't know he's a dog, he thinks he's a 'people'. "

Might actually get into the tilted back section today if I post more than once on here. Fairly certain my post count was zero yesterday.
On a positive note, finally friday!

Oh, Simba absolutely thinks he's a people.
And he has a clean bill of health. The breathing seems to be resolving on its own. Nothing unusual going on with his heart or lungs. So we're all good.

What a restless sleep I had. Oy. Woke up every few hours, each time from a strange dream. I'm getting tired of the dreams.

  15. I wasted my weekend. Played board games all Friday night and much of Saturday morning....didn't go to bed until 7am. I think I finally recovered, but Saturday and Sunday were WASTED. Friday night was worth it though.

The only time I had real clothes on, not PJs, was for the 3 hours I left the house to go watch a rugby game Saturday afternoon. As soon as I got home, I changed back into PJs and crawled into bed and pretty much stayed there until I left for work this morning. (I did go to the kitchen and to the bathroom a few times.) If the weather was better, I'd like to think I would have got out more. Hopefully, come summer, I won't be home as much.

Applied for a I.T. Tech position for the State of Michigan, which describes exactly what I am doing now. I know I should apply for higher paid positions, but maybe I am aiming too high?

Just ordered the upgrade for my Canon Rebel XS to the Canon Rebel T3i
Should be a nice bump up across the board, and help with that goal of trying to get somewhere (have not started yet, just read the FAQs on some of them awhile ago) with contributing to stock photography websites.

Just brought some of my Old Time Radio tapes out of storage to rejoin the main stash and was delighted to find three shows featuring Orson Welles. I already knew about the Suspense broadcasts of the classic Lucille Fletcher story "Hitchhiker" that she wrote specifically for Orson (many of you will remember the television adaptation from the Twilight Zone, but it is better on the radio and especially with Orson) and the superb rendition of "Donovan's Brain", but seeing the Campbell Playhouse version of "A Christmas Carol" from 1938 starring Orson as Ebenezer Scrooge brought a big smile to my face and moved very high on my "transfer soon" list.
