Ok I seen Homer Simpson quotes a trillion times but this guy is just as "genius".

Any fans of Parks & Rec? If so share your quotes. My fave:

Lowe's employee: "Hello sir may I help you?"
Ron Swanson: " I know more than you."

This is another favorite, I'll just show you the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXhJPey3i_A

I've never heard of this guy before, but I liked the bit on vegan bacon.

That's because you live in Canada where the TV's only show hockey, curling and "Mounties" (the Canadian version of "Cops").

No, the_jazz. That's just if your TV only has rabbit ears.

If we pay money, any one of us can get access to all that glorious and culturally rich American television. Actually, I think one of our universities is going to get a distinguished research professor of Kardashian studies.

That figures. Canadian culture is to the Kardashians as American culture is to The Simpsons. I'm willing to bet that Ron Swanson doesn't consider Canada a country.

From what little I've gleaned from him so far, he probably views Canada as a holy hunting ground. Actually, according to your pyramid, he's actually quite Canadian-like.

When Canadian editors fail this badly at reading comprehension, it makes me wonder where we're going to get our next batch of cannon fodder for our inner city schools.

Check out the box just below "Honor" at the top. I bet you even like skim milk.

Well, I guarantee you that there are many Canadians who think the same thing about Canada, which is my point.

And don't mistake me for a "typical Canadian." I'm far from it. Most Canadians loathe Toronto, and I fit right at home here. East of here you get millions of angry, disenfranchised Québécois (crazy fuckers) and hopelessly friendly Maritimers. West of here is a hinterland of forest, plains, hills, and mountains, filled with grizzlies, wolverines, fish, deer, caribou, and wildmen, the latter of which is the reason why we came up with the idea of Mounties in the first place. They keep the wildmen away from the cities.

No, the_jazz, maybe you're right. This chump isn't very Canadian-like. I don't think he'd survive here. (It's the buffets....too American—wait, was that the box you were talking aboot?)

Interestingly enough, the actor that plays Ron is married to Megan Mullaley in real life. Which is why she's on the show as Tammy 2, one of his ex-wives.

Somebody say something about skim milk? Man, I love skim milk.

    ...

Rob Swanson is almost as good as Kenny Powers.

    MILFy!

I fucking hate—hate!—Danny McBride. He's always making me pee myself.

  13. This is how Ron feels about Canada:

I want to be this man when I grow up!

I'm telling you, it's the lack of buffets. Why do you Americans get so hung up on those things?

Ron Swanson is my hero, plain and simple.

    See this thread: http://www.thetfp.com/threads/do-yo...-do-other-people-see-you-in-them.95/#post-552

The dude is a pure genius. Interestingly enough, the actor who portrays him is from the same small town I live in, and his family is/was very involved in city government. I keep meaning to check and see if he has a Twitter account and if I could grill him a steak or share a glass of scotch when he's in town next. :p

    Nick Offerman is my hero.
I don't watch P&R. Just the first couple of episodes, but I really like the actor that plays Ron Swanson.

I saw that he was guesting on Martha Stewart's show that she did on woodworking, and had to watch.
He has some terrific canoes and paddles he's done, plus other pieces he didn't have time to show.
http://offermanwoodshop.com/index.html (not spam, just showing he and his team's stuff)
    The guy knows his craft.

A vid where he works on a canoe a bit...

Funny bit with Nick and his wife Megan...

Yeah, I've watched some of his videos and they are great. He is also a hilarious guest on shows like Conan.

Honestly, if you like him that much, you should go back and try to watch Parks and Rec. The first few episodes were not that great, it really hit it's stride in the second season. I wasn't a fan until I gave it a second shot, now it's one of my favorite network shows, if not my favorite.
