For me, it's primarily the Muppets!

I can't wait for this film. :) What are some movies you're looking forward to for the rest of this year?

Sad to say, absolutely nothing so far. The new movies just fail to grab my attention for the most part.
I might pay to watch something like the original D.O.A. from 1949 on the bigscreen now though.

Looking forward to seeing how the American version of Girl with the Dragon Tattoo will be.

I'm looking forward to Sherlock Holmes 2. Robert Downey Jr as Sherlock Holmes was a shock to my system ... I had been used to the likes of Jeremy Brett R I P. I am expecting I will enjoy Holmes 2, because I will have been eased into Downey's portrayal.

I'm very excited about Sherlock Holmes 2, both because the RDJ and Jude Law dynamic was great but I'm also thrilled to see Jared Harris get a higher profile role after his work on Mad Men.

I would say I'm not at all interested in seeing the US version of the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Seriously people, read some fucking subtitles. I would venture to say there is nothing they could do better than the original, in which case, what's the point?

I second that.... Daniel Craig is the wild card, he's had some solid roles but Bond may have made him a robot....

I don't follow release dates that closely, so I thought I wasn't looking forward to anything. I'd forgotten The Muppets were releasing this year, however. Thanks Pony!

    Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadow
The Girl with the dragon tattoo (hope they don't screw this one up)

  10. Bear Cub

    Bear Cub Goes down smooth.

It's going to be IMPOSSIBLE to not screw up TGWTDT.

Sadly, there is nothing in 2011 I plan on going to see, or that I think will even be rental-worthy. In fact, I will, at best, only go see one movie in 2012 - The Dark Knight Rises.

The Muppets will be the next movie I will see.

I saw the Electric Daisy Carnival Experience last week and it was a good time.

This Contagion movie looks like it has promise. Finally, an outbreak/epidemic movie that might be realistic.

I'm quite excited to see the new Conan film, now I know that Momoa is in it.

Final Destination 5 was awesome in 3D... They really used the technology to their advantage. It was awesomely gruesome and funny :)
    Conan was delicious.

There aren't many more im looking forward to. I loved all three Girl movies and I refuse to see what America is going to do with them. And after beng blasted with Taylor Lautner's annoyingly cro-magnon, squinty-eyed face during every set of trailers, I give up. Bring on 2012! Another Underworld, another Batman... yeehaw.

30 Minutes or Less was awful. I have no idea why I wasted money on such shit.

  16. Harry Potter was the only movie I was excited about this year and I've already seen it. I'm not even sure whats coming out during the winter holiday/Oscar season.

I'm interested in Hugo. It's a children's movie directed by Martin Scorcese (which is strange). Plus, I read The Invention of Hugo Cabret with my daughter and enjoyed it:

The only movie I was excited for was Conan, since they CLAIMED they were basing it off some Robert E Howard stories, rather than doing a remake of the Arnold movies. What we got was a shitty remake of the Arnie movies. The whole "last Cimmerian" angle with a Conan who has none of the anti-hero aspect that makes him such an awesome character. *sigh* As a long-time reader of the novels and comics, I am disappoint.

and I know it leaks into 2012,

Nightmare on Elm Street 2 (remake)
    Jeepers Creepers 3
Friday the 13th Part 2 - if it gets done.
    The Thing (remake)

    Meh.

The Dark Knight Rises in 2012 will, hopefully, be worth the wait.
