    Likewise than vs. then.
"I have more friends then enemies."
"It was harder then I thought."
"It was harder, then I thought.";)

If people are so concerned with saving time that they type things like "u" "r" and other similar 'text speak' for the sake of saving a couple keystrokes, why do they still put anywhere from "1:00" to "1:39" on their microwave instead of "60" to "99" ?

The whole 'grammar nazi' thing... the counter to that should be something like "sieg hyphen!"

I've [jokingly] said before that good punctuation is important for preventing pregnancies. When you have good punctuation, you don't miss your period.

Something simple can really change the meaning of what you're saying. Just look at the difference between "I will, fuck you" and "I will fuck you"

"Very unique"... something is either unique or it isn't. There are no levels of being unique.

  6. Why aren't there more adjectives where "-ish" is appended to nouns? One can be "childish" or "ghoulish" but not "dogish" or "monkeyish." Language should be liberating, not limiting.

Your affect really has a negative effect on my mood.
And when you affect my motherfucking mood,
you might not like the effects.

That and then tendency of Southern, former Marine, deacon "counselors" to speak in absolutes.
It drives me insane. "Always," "never," "you must""... It makes me feel quite cantankerous my ODD erupts when Southern preachers preach.

    Help, please, Baraka and others.

I wrote this in another thread:
I'd originally written: George Eliot - from the novel, Adam Bede.

    I had remembered:
And was loth to generate an unintentional vocative.

Could I have got away with my original version?
