The guy who said "Son of a bitch, they're alive" from the above clip sounded like Adam Baldwin to me.

 

I guess im an idiot cause I don't even know who adam Baldwin is.

 

General question.
Did they ever say how it all started?

 

Rick and Hershel are alive as opposed to being undead.
From what I can surmise, these are brand-new survivors coming upon what they assumed to be walking dead. Upon closer inspection, they see that Rick and Hershel are alive.
Puzzling to me tho' is that neither of them are in defensive stances like one would be if about to take on the undead. The one guy is super-casual, turning away from Rick & Hershel, disregarding whether they've walked into a dangerous situation (e.g. Rick and/or Hershel could be armed).

I hadn't yet invested in The Walking Dead comic-book series, instead borrowing from my local library, but as of yesterday I dropped $30 on TWD: Vols. 13, 14, & 15 (equivalent to 18 comic books) which will bring me up to the present in the comic book-verse. My price-checker has Amazon being the cheapest online resource for them here in the States.

Nope, and according to Robert Kirkman, who writes both the comics and helps write the television show he may never address that question or if addressed, never answer it definitively.

Me too, but the comic books--and I'm a slow reader compared to 'real' bookies--the comics are a super-quick read due to the huge space the graphics take up.

I think Hershel goes off on his own to drink (we saw him take the flask from his drawer in the last episode) and Rick the peacemaker goes after him and is trying to make things 'right.'

No.
Hershel on TWD is a bit different in the comics--though still very religious.

So glad that iTunes offers the episodes very soon after they air, otherwise I would be waiting way too long for anything better than viewing them on the AMC website quality, and this kind of thing needs maximum video quality to properly enjoy.

 

I suppose that makes sense. After all when Carl does the deed he makes the comment about it not being the same as shooting the dead ones, which I dont remember him doing yet in the TV show. So I guess that does have to come first.
