Is AI Porn a good thing?

I only started running across this phenomenon recently, being your typical sexually frustrated hetero male scouring the internet for images of women in various states of undress... but I'm not really sure about how I feel regarding images of women that don't actually exist.

I've heard one side that argues that these computer-generated images could help stop the exploitation of women (always a good thing), but I've also heard the other side say that it's going to put people out of work (not a good thing).

From my limited viewing, the images aren't 100% convincing. Close, but there's always something off, like the hands, or the skin tones. I've also seen images of things that are impossible, like women with very mature facial features (60 years+) but their bodies are closer to their 20's! (I guess there's something out there for every taste.)

I also wonder what effect this will have on the younger crowds; if they perfect this technology soon, the kids are going to have super-unrealistic expectations of what natural nudity is. (I imagine it's already a problem, but could get worse.)

    It goes both ways...

Yes. there "may" be benefits, but there often will be abuses too.

I think there should always be a watermark or other indicator. (even by law)

Because there are often people who use it to get $$$ from the viewers.
    It's not just for entertainment.

But you should always know the truth.
Then that at least, allows you the option.
    And you won't get catfished.

IMHO, I want real...that's a part of the fantasy for me. (ironic as that sounds)

I'll take real. I've never cared for implants, and gave up on unrealistic professional porn decades ago. I'm pretty sure AI won't appeal to me. I know what little I've seen was meh, but I doubt it was meant to appear real.

I'll give this a twisted turn...what about AI kiddie porn, snuff, etc? It would be disgusting, and probably legal.

Edit: Is putting some actors & others in the porn industry out of work a huge concern? What percentage of the workforce would be affected? No offense to those folks, they're humans who need work like the rest if us.

I read a discussion online elsewhere that one performer initially had no issue about her image being used, but then realized she didn't want to be seen doing certain acts which she found offensive. I totally understand.

If real actors do things in porn that are
    unrealistic in real life sex,
    what seriously unrealistic sex
might we see in AI porn?

I've seen a few short ads for AI porn that were laughable (for me, maybe not for others), but as I mentioned in an earlier post it was clearly not meant to be that realistic.

I'm also thinking at some point (which we might've reached???) the major players in the porn industry could make a lot more money with AI than using real people.

    Edited for typos.

Hot take: I think there are a couple of reasons it is hard to tell AI pictures of porn from real. One is obvious, there is so many on the net for the AI to learn from, much more than art styles, writing or coding.
The second is us, we have gotten so used to airbrushed, digitally altered pictures meant to make the women look perfect, that our bullshit meters are broken when it comes to porn.
We can look at a street scene and notice when things don't line up right, just know that there is something wrong even before we realize there is a tree growing out of the fire hydrant.
Noticing that the girl with perfect tits has one arm bending the wrong way isn't something that we clock right away.

I think it's easy to tell at the moment...they may improve it.
But typically, there's a waxy glazed look to them.
Plus, the collections tend to be the same pose and posture again and again.

The glassy eyes are an indicator too.
They look like Anime CGI...or grown up dolls.

But I tend to like the more realistic photos anyway rather than the overly glammed up and set "just so" photos.
So maybe that lends to it.

My cuz sent me a couple a few days a part and I immediately noticed they're AI.

    But they are getting better.
Perhaps in a few years, they'll fool me.
