What’s the difference, like Night & Day

One lied, delayed and resisted (for LOTS)

The other found it and gave it back the next day (for a FEW)

BTW, classified can often mean simply “Confidential”
Usually not secret or top secret.

The difference between a mountain and a molehill

More discussion in the Biden thread.

Person A might have a stapler and a couple similar items at home that belong to the company. They forgot about them, find them, & return them. They can also explain why they had them.

Person B might have several laptops, a couple of printers, & a stash of toner cartridges at home that belong to the company. They know they have them, can't explain why they have them, & repeatedly partially comply with requests to return them.

^ Not the same as classified docs & security risks, but does illustrate apples to oranges, or at least extremely different types of apples .

Edit: I'm not trying to insult anyone's intelligence, the similar-yet-very-different scenario popped into my head. I know some people who require such an explanation. None of them are TFP members.

With black and white thinking, both would be fired. And both would be equally bad to many people. And the people who only read the headlines or want to believe that both sides are just as bad will use this as proof.

This is strange though. The government is usually really good at classified papers, especially when other people are in charge of it. It isn't like Biden was authoring it. But there should have been a security manager and courier that is responsible for the documents when they leave a secure area.

DOJ reserves right to not cooperate with certain House GOP requests — POLITICO

    So basically, “Fuck Off”
    And I don’t blame them…

Especially since some of those asking for information are potentially “people of interest” or have cooperated in a crime…accessories.

Yes, even those in power can be under investigation.
And they don’t even have any precedent or power now
Since the GOP ignored much of the 1/6 panel
The DOJ can use the same in return to the GOP

What comes around goes around…

I was doing some reading, trying to find out if anyone has ever been held responsible for the Secret Service, & other agencies, deleting phone records from Jan 05 & 06, 2021. So far updates on actions taken have been elusive.

I did find the following article interesting, & agree with it. It's long on passion, and short on sources details, but seems factual (the sources can be easily tracked).

    More proof of assdragging.

Many people have been saying NPD Trump has benefited from prosecutors assdragging because they're scared to charge him with crimes, of which he is clearly guilty.

Others have defended the lengthy (seemingly never-ending) investigations as being necessary to make solid cases against NPD Trump.

    https://www.npr.org/2023/02/07/1155...-could-have-charged-trump-with-multiple-crime

Mike Pomerantz is promoting his book, which gives him at least one reason to criticize the lack of charges. However, he also makes a very compelling case that the investigations have been intentionally overly thorough.

I've said it before & I'll probably repeat it again in the future: It shouldn't take forensic accountants forever to examine the documents NPD Trump used to promote investment in his companies and to apply for loans, to the documents he used when filing his taxes.

Enough already. Many of the discrepancies have already been exposed. I'm certain many more have been found. Charge NPD Trump with the crimes he has committed and put him on trial. Now.

Well, they're lingering because of 3 things...
    1. They don't normally go after any federal officials - so they often get away with a LOT.
    2. Most overly honor a president and give them too much leyway and it would be a first to go after a prez (lots of laws are ambiguous for a prez)
    3. T is notorious for using EVERY legal angle and throwing tons of lawyers. (and going up to SCOTUS for as much as he can)

Whoever does this is going to be in court a LONG time.
That's an intimidating thing and a heavy lift.

It seems to stall while posting, then when you click it again thinking it didn't post the first time, it posts both.
I'm going to try refeshing next time it stalls posting. (just make sure I c/p and save my words before refeshing)

Pence has a man crush on NPD Trump, still, even after everything that happened. He probably won't lie exactly, he'll use carefully word half truths.

Unless...somebody stays on him with very precise questions that leave no wiggle room.

    But...there's always the 5th Amendment.

And this is what I meant…

Untouchable review: Trump as ‘lawless Houdini’ above US justice — Guardian US

Nice to know there are professional and experts of the same mind.

And some that are taking time to dive into the details.
    I certainly don’t.

This story won't surprise anyone who follows NPD Trump.
Keeping the negative research results a "secret" isn't illegal.

    One possible question is:
Was how the Berkeley Reseach Group was paid legal?

There are several ways to view the inaction of Merrick Garland.

    1. Garland is honestly meticulous to an extreme fault.

    2. The above, plus he's waiting for a clear smoking gun.

    3. He is being extremely slow under orders, unwritten, to drag this out to the point that few people will continue to care, so that the actions of NPD Trump will fade along with the man himself. Problem: NPD Trump relishes all attention, & ludicrous denials are his specialty.

    4. Deep down Garland didn't want this, & his (in)actions reflect this. He knows ultimately it's a lose-lose situation.

Where is the pressure for Garland to get his ass moving?

Judge to release parts of Georgia special grand jury report

I hope the hell releasing parts of the report doesn't hurt the prosecution's case.

Wouldn't it be poetic justice if the normally Republican state of Georgia brings down the mighty NPD Trump? As far as I'm concerned the phone call asking that the "missing votes" be found is a smoking gun.

Agreed, but really all it takes is one piece of the multiple probes to get the dominoes falling.
That's usually how it works, when one goes in...so do all the other things and then some. (unfortunately so)

Problem is, it seems like all the different probes are lingering and taking their time. It's not just Garland and the DOJ.
So I hope GA pulls the trigger. It will start the whole damn firing squad or sketchy gun pointing authorities.

    ---

In the meantime, add this to the pile of cards...
    Biden dismisses scandal-plagued Capitol manager
The guy knew "something" was going to happen...

I feel for the Capital Police board who seemingly betrayed the officers on duty that day.
Not to alert their attention to something going on....or add more support.
I wouldn't be surprised if there were quite a few law suits for officer endangerment going after the board.

We'll be digging in the weeds and settling $$$ and listening to historians on this forever.
