When I worked Detox I developed a strong affinity towards the Hawaiian shirts. In the Winter when very cold I'll wear a solid colored long sleeve underneath and not button the Hawaiian.

I also have always liked a good sweater. Maybe a Cardigan.

That's why they were called "Cracker Jacks". I had to wear that wool uniform after graduating A school in San Diego with the worst sunburn I have ever had. Got the sunburn from passing out on Liberty Beach. Talk about itchy and sore. It was like wearing fiberglass.

The unis I hated most were the Johnny Cash's and the dungarees, those jeans and shirts... lol. Oh and bell bottom everything. I liked the dress whites and wish I had been a chief or Officer because the Khakis are cool. So were the pea coats.

Hated the long assed rain coats that looked like some perverts attire.

And those boots when wet, ewwww how the feet would stink.

 

AF blues = bus driver uniform
AF Service Dress (Class A equivalent) = playboy keeping his composure a la Bruce Wayne (at least at this "college")
AF Service Dress with trenchcoat = Carl from Starship Troopers as a Colonel

 

Airforce dress uniforms look like airline stewards, the army is alright, low level navy uniforms look absurd but the whites and khakis are nice, and the marines have the best dress uniform hands down.

I think you're making a wrong assumption.

 

Dress white suck and are only good for standing at attention on the flight deck when you return from a long cruise and pose for the waiting families. The only thing worse was the working whites I had to wear briefly after being bounced from Nuke school that get trashed even faster somehow when you work behind a desk.
Coveralls are the best, and those damn dungarees I could tolerate for the morning roundup in the hangar bay are at least easy to clean and not much to replace.

 

if we're going for looks AND comfort then i'm gonna go with the flying green onsies a.k.a. flight suit. they're comfy, don't require underwear, and look professional no matter who's wearing them (unless she's really really hot)

 

No disrespect to our fine boys and girls in service, but am I the only one that thinks that English dress uniforms are totally cooler than American dress uniforms?

depends on the uniform. some of them are very James Bond. some make me want to watch The Patriot and compare uniforms
