I think planning on making chili here in a bit. Not sure if I'll eat it for dinner today though, might save it for tomorrow. For some reason it's always way better after it's had 24 hours to marinate in the fridge.

    3 lbs ground beef
    1 large onion
    3-4 cloves garlic, pressed
    1 habanero pepper
    2-3 large poblano peppers
    7-8 serrano or cayenne peppers
    3-4 chipolte peppers
    54oz canned red kidney beans
20oz Hunts whole tomatoes in tomato juice, juice and all
    16oz beer
    1.5 tbl brown sugar
    2 tsp Mexican oregano
    2.5 tbl cumin
    1.5 tbl kosher salt
    3 tsp black pepper
    1.5 tsp cayenne pepper powder

I ended up with a double batch of chili, and a few extra twists (extra peppers, and some SA Chocolate Bock beer). Now to give it 3-4 hours to simmer.

Indeed. I also like the saying, "Beer has nutritional value, but food has no alcohol value."

Italian sausage, pasta, bottled sauced kicked up with fresh chopped cilantro and umami paste and a spinach salad dressed with olive oil, salt and pepper.

First time cooking with umami paste - totally added a new dimension of savory flavors I hadn't anticipated. Definitely gonna try it in a few other dishes over the weekend.
