Ha! I did not see that one coming.

 

I just finished watching the finale and must say I was quite suprised with the results. I was really thinking coach was gonna win and thought he deserved it - he played a really good game.

Who won the fan favourite? My recording cut off right after they interviewed sophie and coach at the finale.

Also, could someone explain what happened at Redemption Island with Coach and the asian girl? The previews showed she was leading by a huge margin but unfortunately my pvr missed that episode while we were away on holidays.

 

Coach never went to Redemption. They had the uncomfortable conversation about her being #6 in his alliance, and he pretty much confirmed that she's on the chopping block at the #6 position because his original 5 is as strong as ever. Did you mean Ozzy at redemption? He pretty much dominated everyone except (surprisingly) Cochran who came within about an inch of beating Ozzy - which I would have stood up and cheered for if it had happened. I notice that the previews for what happens "next week" are often a little misleading.

Ozzy won fan favorite by a landslide. My vote was for Cochran. Ozzy turned into an obnoxious jerk.

I was also surprised about Sophie winning. Seasons past have usually lambasted the "coat tail rider" stating that they did nothing except vote the way the "ring leader" told them to. Coach should have won, he did bring some honor and integrity to the game - OK, you HAVE to be at least a little dishonest when playing Survivor. The ONLY thing I think he should have honored was his word to Ozzy to take him to the final 3, but I see why he didn't. Then again, I was a big fan of Coach in his first and All Star seasons - he was such a tool that I loved the way the rest of the players reacted to his bullshit. Looks like he finally figured it out.

 

What happened with Edna and Ozzy in the duel though? Did she come close? In the previews it looked like she had him beat... this is the one I missed....

 

It was pretty close from what I can remember. Closer than expected.

It's too bad about the girl from Austin with the broken wrist. She was sexy.

Anybody catch the little guy's name? I missed it.

It started off pretty good. I like the initiative of the one guy stealing the chick's materials.
I'm already annoyed with the women and Dakota. But it was pretty nifty when the black lady found the idol for Dakota.

I'm not sure if I want to record the whole season, or continue watching week by week.
I don't like waiting now that I have the dvr, but I like discussing it here weekly with you guys.

i agree that she was sexy. when i saw the repaly you could clearly see that she broke it.
there are some sexy women on there this season . sometimes i find it that they get sexier as the days go on.

i wish it was a 90 minute episode like in some seasons

if im not mistaken this is the first time they have had a "little person" on there??

This certainly looks like it will be a season of conflict. They are getting pretty brutal after just one episode - should make for some good Tv!

I too felt bad for the woman who broke her wrist - that's gotta suck

 

lastnights episode was pretty good. i found it interesting how the gay guy is trying to turn things around

 

I'm surprised Colton is still around, he's such a loose cannon. But I guess he is critical in order to keep the advantage in the alliances.

Seeing this thread right above the Walking Dead thread had me thinking just now that i would actually watch Survivor every week (would need an actual live TV feed of some kind) if they were trying to survive against actual walkers and each other. Would raise the stakes a bit and make it interesting.
Seeing people in that kind of situation where there was no script would really show what kind of person they are.
