Opinion | Lindsey Graham’s shocking admission about Trump blows up a big GOP argument — The Washington Post

Uhh, so they’re going to put their faith into a guy who may go to jail or will have so many things being pinned on him legally that it will be in the newspaper constantly???

The Dems are saying...go ahead, by all means

There’s a saying, when your opponent is making a mistake, don’t stop them.

The Dems are going to use the same tactic Biden did during the campaign. Keep quiet.
Do the right thing and STFU.

They’re going to let the GOP hang themselves.

And it seems much of the GOP will do so
Just plain crazy...and they don’t realize it.

The Dems are going to keep doing what worked in Georgia
Get out the vote and work the streets hard.

Populism doesn’t work if you all aren’t popular.

    Trump isn’t the solution
    He’s the poison

Biden once asserted Republicans would have an ‘epiphany.’ Now he admits he doesn’t understand them. — The Washington Post

And if Biden thought different, it is wrong
The GOP will continue to drink the Kood-Aid

GOP has adopted full scale the televangelist method of enslaving it's audience with smoke and mirrors vaporware and milking their cash for nothing but personal gain and the power to continue this same game and goal.

This is an interesting review / analysis and seem to get closer to my questions than anything I've read so far.

"American Psychosis: Trumpism and the Nightmare of History" Los Angeles Review of Books

While googling around for this (not specifically but just trying to understand wtf is going on)
I also ran across Wich Hunt book about how (I think, but I haven't yet read) Trump investigation is some kind of false bullshit leftist delusion.

I'm also wondering why Don Lemon and CNN is taking advertising money from Billy Graham.

Why are people loosing grasp on reality and the reality that reality changes with new information ?
Like, why would you hold on to an idea that a person is dumb after you learn they needed glasses to see the blackboard or have dyslexia ?

Trying to keep up on news is incredibly depressing and detrimental to (at least my) mental health.

The GOP needs the discontented and the contrarians.

The discontented and the contrarians want Trump.

From what I understand from many
Including what you would think to be rational people
They WANT him to destroy it all from the inside
Rattle the cages, change the rules, create chaos
They’re just plain angry at “the system”

Like turning loose a Tasmanian Devil in DC

But the problem is...even IF you desire that
You’re putting in control a megalomaniac
Someone who only cares about himself
And won’t tear it up, but twist it to support him in totality.

Basically, he’s being supported by the anti-government mindset and financial groups

Which is ironic, since they’re basically anarchists
But from the right, than the traditional left.

They’ve all pretty much twisted things.
Rational thought isn’t in much commodity anymore

Thank goodness we’ve got rational people in charge now
The key is to keep rational people in.

When you need to fix a house
You refurbish it, while you’re living within

    You don’t burn it down
    Especially if you’re living within
And even more so...you don’t do it with a damn narcissistic fire bug with tons of gasoline.

    I'll buy the hammers !!
It would be better for them to guest star on the hydraulic press channel and use the noodle maker pusher.

Rogue49 "they're going to crush themselves"

    I'll buy the hammers....

Hydraulic press channel often smashes soft things with a pusher that has holes it so soft things squirt out the holes like noodles. I guess I thought everyone like to watch stuff smashed in a press.

    And she says...

“If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.”

All they did was shine a spotlight on here and make her seem the heroine (in comparison to them)

    Media loves that shit.

    The GOP imploding is news.

I don't like Cheney's history as a right wing supporter, but I can live with her as a leader against the Kool aid drinking Trumpers.

The Stolen Election Bullshit, i.e. The Big Lie, needs to be acknowledged and put to rest by the GOP leadership. But instead they took a huge step backwards.

It’s almost as if the GOP has a multiple personality disorder

Except unlike the Dems, where it’s the uber-progressives vs the establishment

In the GOP, it’s those believing the Big Lie and T
Vs those who want him gone.

Some are switching, is it a slow trickle?

What would take a dam break?

The legal challenges to the election were turned down, by many Republican judges and conservative courts, for lack of sufficient evidence. And since then no verifiable evidence has been presented to support The Big Lie.

^ What in the hell is wrong the GOP leadership?

I can not believe they actually believe The Big Lie.

What are they going to do when we get a situation, or situations, similar to 06 JAN 21? Trump is going to need something to "rally the troops" and simply criticizing the Biden administration won't be enough, esp if things go well for Biden. Trump has shown he's a loose cannon who plots independent of the GOP.

I suppose we could see (not actually see it in the transparency sense) a slow move away from The Big Lie. But that still leaves Trump refusing to accept the loss, or at least manipulating it.

The Republican Party is certainly no longer the party of Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt or Eisenhower and Reagan.

It is now the party whose most visible and vocal members are conspiracy nuts, white supremacists, outright liars and self- declared "patriots" who pledge fealty to an authoritarian loser rather than uphold the rule of law, the basic principles of democracy or the Constitution.

Republicans Are as Excited for Trump’s Upcoming Rallies as They Are for Their Next Colonoscopy — Vanity Fair

Then WHY are you catering to him???
    Allying yourself with him?

The was some time where the party leaders had some say who represented them.

    Don’t let him run.
    Period.

Just like the Dems didn’t have let Bernie run in their primary, but did anyway, even though he’s not a Dem. (IMHO, they shouldn’t have)

    Let them run as independents.
    There’s no rule against that.

    He won’t be controlled
So you better say NO now.

Remember, in his mind, it’s ALL about him.
    Party is just a tool.

If we had rank choice voting, then independent candidates could make sense. You still have a lot of "undeclared" voters who don't vote at all in the primary, and then you have the party loyalists who will always vote for the candidate that is endorsed by the local party.

This will be interesting to see if removing Trump from Twitter and bringing in competent politicians could make him into a legigitimate candidate once again. If he actually has a solid platform and goals, and people around him that want to do the work to achieve the hidden agenda without trying to piss off the Democrats as the first thing.

This could be the platform that was missing in the 2020 election for the GOP, and be the cause of the Democrats further downfall in the already difficult midterm elections. Mainly because the Democrats have had 20 years to create a "New Contract With America" and the conservatives are going to take that away from them once again. This will make the Democrats look like the party with no plan, with lots of in-fighting among it's different factions that don't work together on each others issues, and an elite bunch who don't know how the real world works.

Trump is starting to put together his own Contract with America. And he’s teaming up with Newt.

We voted in rank choice voting up here in Alaska.
The Democrats and Republicans are suing to stop it from happening.
They are freaking the fuck out.
