    True that.
I just can't remember starting to doze off during a SB before......and yet late in the third quarter I felt my head nodding down a few times.

A lesser QB would've taken sacks, failed to pick-up first downs, and let Brady have the ball more often.

The stats on the game are surprisingly close. The Bucs just did a lot more with their possessions. One glaring exception is penalties.

Justin Fields draft stock is dropping as each day passes...

Looks like the bucs had a great time on the boat parade.

JJ Watt and the Texans have agreed to part ways.

I don't blame Watt. He's 32, he's had a couple of injuries, & his window as a productive starter is closing. Waiting for the Texans to rebuild (esp if Watson departs) isn't a good option.

There should be several Win Now teams willing to sign him.

So how does that work contract-wise?
Does he start from scratch and negotiate a new deal with whatever team wants him?

yes, they released him he was owed 17 mil next year, with them releasing him his contract basically is null and void. so yes wherever he goes he will have to negotiate a new one.
Rumor has it that he is worth 6-8 mil a year.

wouldn't it be interesting if he went to the Steelers with his brother... and would Pittsburg resign his brother who they just let go... interesting things.

He put out a video to the people of Houston instead of a statement which I found interesting

Yes. From what I'm hearing Watt is a UFA, the Texans get nothing other than some cap salary space. I

Part of me likes that McNair is showing Watt a lot of respect.

Another part of me knows the Texans are starved for draft picks, even if a trade would have only netted some 2nd and 3rd rounders.

JJ as always been a fan favorite. He's polite, respectful, and sincere. The son or SIL parents want, the brother or BIL siblings want, the husband women want, the neighbor you want, etc.

Watt has some interesting options. Teams knowing they have maybe three maximum to Win Now might want an ageing and declining veteran who fits in. Watt still has enough left to disrupt the backfield, he could force offenses to spread the pass blocking around. He could be effective as a fresh situational player instead of a tired starter.

JJ isn't dumb, he knows time isn't on his side, and his playing time will decline. He's more interested in a SB ring that snaps and records, and money.

The Packers or Steelers would make sense. The Buccaneers might remain extremely viable for a few years. If Brees decides to try again.....

I mean the Saints could be an option for Watt, but only with Brees at QB. He's supposedly retiring, would need to change his mind.

I'm placing Watt with top teams with experienced but ageing elite QBs.
Teams that pretty much need to win now, that will be facing rebuilding sooner rather than later.

    Texans update:

This season they're (sort of) on my Don't Care list. I might pay some attention once the regular season starts.

    Maybe.
