Absolutely agree about Tannehill.
That's why I think Darnold is such an interesting player.
He's really talented, and doesn't sound like a loser/failure like Manziel.
I think he's the same guy who went at the top of the draft a few years ago, and has just been buried by horrible coaching.

 

If Watson gets traded, what sleeper QB could the Texans pursue? With all of the coaching changes there could be some major roster changes, maybe including some "big name" QBs.

 

I'm hoping for a Chiefs-Packers Super Bowl, although a Bills-Packers one would be fine too. Chiefs/Bills-Tampa would be interesting but I'm hella tired of Brady being in the Super Bowl.

 

The Bills would be OK, but I would really like to see the Chiefs repeat.

I'm going to try to enjoy the Bills vs the Chiefs, but it won't be easy.

Maybe something will happen to force Brady to miss the SB. Yes, that's seriously petty, but I'm seriously sick of Brady. That might lead to an empty SB victory for tonight's winner, but I could live with that.

How in the hell do three penalties on the Bills get offset by one penalty by the Chiefs?

It's a strange situation when you can actually justify kicking a FG when doing so makes almost no sense.

The losing coaches are under fire today.

Especially Lafleur and Pettine.

McDermott as well, but his stupid decision late in the game probably didn't affect the final outcome.


The rumor mill has Rodgers ready to leave the Packers. He was already upset, and vocal, over the lack of effort to improve the receiving corp. And word is he had a lot to do with McCarthy getting fired.

The Texans could hire Biniemy. Trade Watson for many draft picks. Bring in Rodgers. Use those picks to improve the receiving corp. The Texans could be a legit deep run PO team. How many years would Rodgers remain elite?

Lafleur, I can't figure out the decision to kick the field goal.

MCDermott, well he got schooled by Andy Reid. He should have worked with Leslie Frazier to make adjustments to the defense at half time and he didn't . Yeah, that's on him.
But I see huge positive steps for the Bills and Josh Allen year after year so I can't be too hard on McDermott.

 

The Bills definitely played above expectations this season.....and that was without a proper training camp and no preseason games. If things return to mostly normal in the NFL for the '21/'22 season, the Bills should kick some ass...harder.

David Culley, new head coach of the Houston Texans.

Nice resume, long career in college football and the NFL.
But no other team contacted him for an interview.
The Ravens passing game ranked 30th this season.

Deshaun Watson's trade request, reported about three weeks ago, was officially announced. The Texans own Watson through '25, could franchise tag him through '28. Watson can't be faulted for wanting to avoid the dumpster fire (and the Culley hire certainly is disappointing), but he did sign a contract extension in September '20 (only a blind idiot didn't see the dumpster fire starting).

Unless Culley turns out to be a genius, and Watson is traded for a numerous draft picks which turn out well for the Texans (I don't see Watson playing for the Texans again), it could be three or four years before the Texans recover.

Rams - Lions trade......winner and loser?
I think the Lions made out great.
Goff could turn it around, and if he doesn't they can cut him in a year and end the financial pain then.
They got an incredible haul of draft picks.
The Rams are acting like they are going to win the Super Bowl in the next year or two.
I watched a couple of their games this year and I'd say they are overestimating themselves.

What are the Texans asking for Watson, do we know?
I think he's 10X the player Goff is. What more could they ask for?

 

The Texans official word is no trade is being entertained or sought.

Any team trading for Watson would essentially have to trade away many of the good players they have now, AND damage their future by giving up top drafts picks for several years.

I think Watson will have to suck it up in '21 like everyone else on the Texans, and hope the Texans turn it around in '22. He's a victim of his own success, his value is nearly priceless.

Totally true. Great analysis. Watson is virtually untradeable if you look at what they got for Stafford.
