I think we have half a chance to get back on track to democracy, not to normal I don't think that is going to ever happen or should it, now that we've gotten rid of The Impeached 45.

    Face it...it wasn’t that bad.
But hopefully it won’t get worse.

    There have been worse years.
    The Black Death
    The Holocaust
    The Civil War
    Etc...

And now, most post-industrial nations have indoor plumbing, AC/Heat, Groceries, Cars, Phones, Media, Internet, games, etc...

It’s really been about the anger that’s been highlighted
    The anxiety, bitching about “inconvenience”
All the madness that’s come out.

Question is...is this caused by the crisis??
The stress, the disease...all the above.
OR is this just exposing something that was already there?
    OR both...

    Probably both.
But it certainly has gotten weird.

I hope we can get a handle on it.
    Stabilize, normalize

    But certainly not the worst...yet.
We humans have a tendency to create our own problems.

Even when nature starts it...we add to it.

I also hope we can get better leadership
Close who be more considerate and consistent.

But we’re the ones that put them in there.
So what does that say about us?

Nature and the universe is always going to throw us for a loop.
It’s up to us to do better at handling it.
    Deal.

COVID-19 as a health issue ranks very high in my book.

But many other problems are subjective. I've said it before and still believe it: We (USA Americans) are spoiled.

    Certainly some hardships are real.

Certainly many hardships could be classified as inconveniences.

I think we are still a ways away from rid of him. It's going to be an interesting week/month. Proud boys rallying this week in dc and plan, I read, to have an armed encampment.
I'm really hoping things won't get drastic but I don't feel like we're at the apex of this shit show.
5G bombing, other violence I haven't read about yet now Pilosy and McConnell s houses vandalized last night or nite before. I wouldn't think you could even get in their neighborhood with a can of spray paint let alone up to the front door w/o a squad of security coming at you.

The new Congress is sworn in at noon today and one of the first acts in the House will be to elect the Speaker of the House.

Pelosi has no Democratic challengers this year, but with the smaller majority than the last Congress, she need just about every Democrat to show up (proxy voting is not allowed for this vote)...

COVID is wildcard as Pelosi faces tricky Speaker vote Sunday

Two years ago, Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) squeaked to the Speakership by a razor-thin edge in the face of an internal Democratic revolt.

This year's vote might be even closer, though for vastly different reasons.

Not only have several of Pelosi's supporters recently contracted the virus, making their participation in Sunday's vote uncertain, but the Democrats' slender majority — the result of an election mauling in November — has left her with little room for defections, absences or a wrong mix of the two.

Democrats of all stripes say they're confident that Pelosi will ultimately find a way to win the votes she needs to keep the gavel for another two years. But ask them if it's a slam dunk and they cite just one hazard: COVID-19.

"I think she'll win, but I'm just not sure how she gets there," said Rep. Stephen Lynch (D-Mass.), summarizing a sentiment common throughout the caucus. "They have to make sure that all the members come. They have to come in person. And some members have illnesses, so it's going to be a little touchy." ...(more)

    https://thehill.com/homenews/house/532341-covid-is-wildcard-as- pelosi-faces-tricky-speaker-vote-sunday

Pelosi has said this will be her last term as it should be. The other top Democrat party leaders need to make this their last term as well. Pelosi , Steny Hoyer and James Clyburn are all 80+ years old.

The internal positioning for 2022 party leadership will be interesting to follow over the next two years with the battle between the traditional Pelosi wing and the more leftist progressive wing of the party (AOC and her "squad" and others).

I don't mind making a profit and being flexible.
But there has to be limits and transparency...or this kind of corruption and manipulation will undermine us and have huge impact.
We need to start some clean up.

Do business...but we need to stop the global laundry.

    A good perspective...
See the clip a bit down the page (a few minutes)

‘All Started With Lies’: Arnold Schwarzenegger Compares Capitol Riots to Nazi Attack on Jews

A bit over the top at the end...but Americans like grandiosity.
I wanted more of a perspective of the aftermath pain of WWII and the Nazis, that’s fascinating IMHO

But the points he makes are right “on point”
It’s not about power and party
It’s about Nation and it’s citizens (or anyone in it)

We should not take it for granted
    We should always consider it

Politicians should be held to their oath
    And remember they represent ALL

    These are not just words
    But a necessity.

Boy, are they going to be kept busy...
“We're going to need more FBI guys” ;)

    ——————-

    This is good...for now.
We’ve got to get this under control

However, I don’t know if it would be good long term.
That’s a slippery slope and could easily be abused and reversed.

    So do the deed now
    Put out the fire
    Find the arsonists

Then let it go...go back to normal.

I think in the school systems
We should teach certain basic classes

Truth - telling it and determining it...fact vs fiction
Etiquette and diplomacy - decency towards others
    Financial math and business sense
    Every year.

I think this is just the start to getting people straightened out.
We’ve lost a lot of how to be in society and an adult.

Many parents aren’t doing the trick.
(Maybe they just don’t have time and mind)

Any others you can think of???

France Knows How This Ends — The Atlantic

I hope that the US can get past this.
But there’s a large segment of society that just plain angry and belligerent.

I think, in the end, we have to “do the right thing”
    Be adult, not for convenience
    Follow the law
But don’t be ruthless and vindictive

We cannot forget about it nor let it go
Because there does need to have things addressed

But you don’t want a “out to get you” and over punishment to take over either.

    Consequences but also consideration
    It’s a hard balancing act.

Biden needs to bring in an Attorney General, and agency heads, who will investigate thoroughly and fairly, and decide if the evidence and the crime justifies prosecution.

No get out of jail free cards, but also no prosecution "because we can."

    Yes, a hard balancing act.

Well, I think this is the method
Because it will be in a total criminal context

Pelosi and Schumer will avoid the political purges
But any crime, will do the time.

The Feds usually can pull together a good case
Especially against politicians, since they err on the side of caution
(not wanting to burn bridges...funds and such)

I'm reading a lot of the q folks are disappointed there was no big event, no storm of arrests ( aside from the insurgents ) no pedo cabal perp walks... Ron Watkins posted something about it all being over and done and the supposed q posting ok ttyl... And possibly this q person is Jason Gelinas. I haven't seen any reasons why he went into this aside from having a second income.

This Watkins dude and his dad it seems lived in Mukilteo Wa which is about 1 hr drive north of me...yikes..

Next time we have a pandemic let's buy everyone netflix, porn hub and talk therapy account so they stay out of the whack-o rabbit holes.

    They’re insane
Both those talking and those listening

    Even just temporary insanity
But still insane to even consider it.

    Like
    2 + 2 = 45b$2

Makes no sense, doesn’t add up

It’s like they’re putting together a jigsaw puzzle
With pieces from different puzzle that don’t fit and saying see that picture is perfect.

    Sure, they’re words...they are ideas
    But the shit don’t fit.

Wow that was a cool read !

But there was no moment where the reality deniers were babtized in perrier and saw the light of reality.

And also I'd say believing in a cabal of elite who drink adrinochrome farmed from abducted children who are also sex trafficked ?

This is far more absurd and bonkers than military espionage.

Hard to imagine Jim and Ron Watkins just pulling this crazy shit outta their ass and capturing the minds of 1/2 of america.
