So it appears that Conman Trump, through Jared Kushner, made sure his family skimmed money from his campaign funds. That seems shortsighted for a man obsessed with reelection since the skimmed funds might have been spent more wisely on his actual reelection campaign.

But we're talking about a "man" who shit on John McCain after his death, and downplayed COVID-19 long after medical science sounded numerous alarms.

Prosecuting Conman and his grifter family members is immensely appealing. Getting his base and other Republican loyalist to see, and actually acknowledge, his ethically questionable behavior, much less his crimes, would be tough. And that could lead to serious political consequences.

My thinking is nail their asses.

He's helping Conman screw Biden, which is more important than our national security.

I sincerely hope that Dominion Voting Systems follows through on its threat to sue everyone who said its voting machines were rigged to steal votes from Trump. If you can't appeal to their sense of decency to right what is a clear wrong, hit them in the wallet.

Here's a cool factoid from the Cook Report:

"4. Biden carried 85 percent of counties with a Whole Foods Market and 32 percent of counties with a Cracker Barrel Old Country Store — a 53 point culture gap. This is larger than the 52 point gap between the same counties in 2016 (Trump carried 74 percent of Cracker Barrel counties and 22 percent of Whole Foods counties that year), the 43 point gap in 2008, the 31 point gap in 2000 and the 19 point gap in 1992."

Just for the record, I live in a county that has neither a Whole Foods nor a Cracker Barrel lol.

This election was much closer than the media and popular vote totals make it out to be. There was one mainstream media show that talked about it last weekend however. On Meet The Press, they showed a graphic that 2016 came down to 77,744 votes in three states (PA, MI, WI), and 2020 also came down to three states (GA, AZ, WI), but was only 42,844 votes.

My take is that maybe if it was closer then politicians would have gotten involved in the state legislatures or Congress to try any shift the outcome. Maybe the lawsuits would have been more effective if there was only one state that was narrowly won too. If it could fall on one legislature to sway the outcome nationally it might be different than if it would require two additional legislatures to also go along with it. January 6th is the last count in the Congress, but I don't see it changing at this point. I do wonder why there are so many different counts though.

That sounds a lot like someone moving the numbers around, several times several ways, to support a predetermined "fact."

Proof. Show proof of voting fraud.

I would hope that the SCOTUS would not allow partisan action by a state legislature to stand. If the recount(s) are correct, and there is no proof of fraud, the votes stand. Period.

And my problem with all of that is The Impeached 45 lost both elections by substantial numbers, literally millions of voters.
The fucking Electoral College was a system that the founding fathers came up with to make the rich landowners comfortable with the idea of a Democratic Republic.
As a way of making sure the unwashed masses wouldn't actually be in control of picking the president.
It sucked then and it sucks now.

Well, it was also a part of the Great Compromise
To get the small states to have some power in comparison to the large states. As is the Senate.

Otherwise back then, Virginia, New York, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts would have dominated
    Getting the money and influence

Same would be true of California, Illinois, Florida, Texas and New York today.

Problem is, It makes for too much of a correction

Frankly, I think it’s the dominance of 2 parties
Parties didn’t exist initially, and they were a worry even back then

The one thing I don't understand is how the 13 colonies didn't merge or break apart to balance out over time. I think things would be better if there were 13 colonies that became 13 states and all were of roughly equal population. Having different state laws and cultures probably made it difficult however.

Judge dismisses lawsuit aimed at empowering Pence to overturn election results — POLITICO

Thank goodness our courts are thinking rationally
Even if a good portion of our public and leaders aren’t.

It’s like they want to throw all rules out.
    Rule by whim.

Isn’t this why we fought the American Revolution???
To get away from king and nobility.

The faster we get away from this disaster the better.

But the rational better be prepared, the irrational aren’t going away. They’re going to try again next election.

Shows you how important the law and vote is.
    Even just one’s vote.
    It all adds up.

Oh yeah, 2024 will be interesting.

The 2016 Perfect Storm of Discontent helped elect Trump despite his campaign being a train wreck.

Trump screwed up so badly--his mishandling of covid-19 was huge--his loyal base couldn't overcome the votes for a leadership change in 2020.

Trump now has four years to pick at the Biden administration. Of course events will be processed through Trump-O-Vision, which includes radical misinterpretation, intentional misrepresentation, half truths, total lies, etc.

Be ready for a fight in 2024. It might take a 2024 Perfect Storm of Voter Inteligence and Trump Imprisionment to have a rational POTUS election.

I'm not worried about Trump running in 2024.
He is not a well man, at least in my estimation, either physically or mentally.
I don't see him being able to run in 2024.
A more competent, equally malicious version of him that shares his contempt for democracy worries me more.

    Imagine a candidate with:
    Reagan's smoothness,
    Obama's intelligence,
    Nixon's ethics,
    and Trump's NPD.

    That’s what I’m worried about...
In a surreal way, we got lucky this time.

Half the nation wanted this looney
Imagine if he had been competent

But who would that be ?
None of trump's kids, or cronies I can think of.
I can't think of anyone who could out "Lonesome Rhoades" Trump.
I think T will need to keel over from fellet o fish abuse not to run, then the debate stage would be another trash talk fest

I expect Georgia to be a mini virsion of the main event. It's a squeeker at the moment.

The Geogia senate races re extremely close. The AP has called one race for the Democratic candidate, and reports indicate most of the votes left to be counted are coming from areas that are traditionally Democratic.

Perdue released a statement that sounds as though he's going to challenge the results every way imaginable. Oh great, more ridiculous, and futile, lawsuits.

I was actually throwing out a thought, a rhetorical question, sort of. I certainly don't want any such candidate from any party or as an independent.

I'm going to watch or least listen to the confirmation proceedings. It would be nice to see Pence do the right thing, namely follow normal protocol. I just hope the objections don't turn the confirmation into a circus drags on and on.

They're just following the bitch template of their illustrious leader, Mr T.
If he can moan and groan and throw lawsuits, so can they.
Frankly, the judges need to start punishing frivolous lawsuits. ** You need some proof! **

Republicans turn on Trump after Georgia loss

Don't just blame him...look in the mirror. Look in it hard.
The candidates you support are VERY flawed.
The actions your party takes are not in inconsideration of the citizens that vote for you.
Your words these days are only fiery rhetoric, but have no substance or real ideas.

The GOP is imploding on itself.
It needs to find its soul again.
Actually represent the people ALL the people. (not just those who scream the loudest)

Yes, you're a party...but you're supposed to represent the nation and ALL citizens.
    The GOP has forgotten this.
