Xenforo Logo should be a TFP Logo

    As you can see the top left of the screen is a Xenforo logo. Now I like the software and all, but we really need to have our own logo there. I was going to make one. I was going to buy one. Someone here is trying to buy placement of their own logo.

    What I was going to do was ask the resident artists if they wanted to take a stab at making a logo of their choosing so long as TFP showed up somewhere prominently in the design. Well, someone said basically, "Hey! I'm not an artist but I want a shot at that! I have my own skills."

    He is right. So whatever your proficient humanities bent, art, photography, literature, graphic design, whatever it is. Here's your opportunity to make a contribution to the community with a dollar being exchanged.

    Submissions are due on the 16th of August. Selection definitely is going to be more than one. Please send all submissions to me via conversation.

    Get creative and make a submission.

    I think it would be neat if we just had several and the one that displayed would be randomly selected whenever the page was loaded. Or maybe folks could choose a preferred on in their options.

    A little guidance as far as size (the XenForo looks like .75x2")? Format (.JPG, I'll assume)? Are you imagining it larger?

    I don't have Photoshop on this computer, so I'm basically limited to whatever I can take with my digital camera and chop in MS Paint.

    The xenForo logo has been bothering me ever since we started 5. I never knew why it was there and wished we had a TFP logo. I also just typed xenoForum and thus think this is some sort of xenophobe site . Bad name, so we do need a logo. Don't look at me. I'm not artistic, but a MS Paint logo sounds GLORIOUS!

    didn't we have something going on a few years ago in which a TFP logo was created by one or two members or staff? maybe cyn or msd remember where it ended up...

    We did have the one that I"m using for Twitter. I don't think that suffices and it's representative of something of the old space. I'd like to have something that helped by the new community here.

    Can we do something about adding a TFP favicon to the bookmarks?
    I know it's not as pressing as the Xenforo logo problem, but I cringe a little every time I look at the blank page next to TFP's name, when all the other site bookmarks have a picture next to theirs.

    I remember the Icon contest. I was the one to create the one we use at the previous site. It should be moved over to this one.

    As for the logo, we should have something that is the ORIGINAL and then go from that. Something that is instantly recognizable even if it's changed. Kinda like the Google logo.

    I'd like this to be all new. So far the only thing that is sticking is the color scheme. Once I get back from a 3 week hiatus, I'll be having someone update the theme and have a more coherent one. Icon and Logo will also be new.
