Ever get a random check from a class action lawsuit you didn't know you were involved in?

Is there anyway TFP can do a class action against someone? Maybe we can all score a few bucks :)

What I was getting at was that if it were a business or corporation that did this, returning such a paltry amount to their "customers" and keeping so much for themselves, people would be screaming about windfalls, gouging, obscene profits, sky-high executive compensation, etc.
But enough of us enjoy seeing corporations get spanked that we let the lawyers get away with obscene profits with impunity.

I look at the lawyers' income (which can be obscene and isn't always fair) as generally a risk/reward situation. It costs those in the class nothing to join in. The lawyers foot the entire bill to "right the wrong" (however miniscule that wrong may be). So if they win, they deserve to get paid for that risk. And the judge ultimately decides how much they're going to make, regardless, since none of the members of the class have signed up for it.

As to the OP, maybe you should see if you could find a law firm that would file a class action against the firms that filed the suits that provided you with such small checks. Oh know, pain, suffering and embarrassment for having to make such small deposits in your account.
