Yes, this is without a doubt my favorite new show. Wonder how long they can keep up the twists and turns?

Are we worried about spoilers going in here? is it worth putting discussion of the latest episode into spoiler tags?

I think if you're going to post specific plot development then yes. But for merely mentioning there are plots twists, no.

Here's a place where I'll use tags to be certain. Consider this background informaton on the show:
As conceived and before it first aired, 'Homeland' was to be a show about the CIA. The Sgt. Brody storyline is just that. Season 2 could be a whole new 'antagonist' or not, according to the showrunners.

I haven't watched last night's episode yet but can't wait to tonight. Having it filmed in our hometown is nice too. Fun picking out local places.

Halfway through the first episode on the Showtime preview. Gripping show, and more than bit disturbing in a completely believable way to see the covert cameras and audio equipment planted like that. Anything past this will have to wait for DVD as Netflix is the closest thing I have to television these days.

Wasn't blown away with last nights offering. Still good, maybe I've come to expect too much?

    *SPOILERS*

Homeland is becoming less of a mystery and more of a thriller. Which is fine, but I think the last episode lacked the intensity of the previous ones. The scenes with Brody and Issa are pretty lame, actually. Trying to make us believe that in a few short months Brody became extremely emotionally attached to the child of the world's #1 terrorist, and that Issa's death by an errant U.S. bomb is motivation for Brody's turn? Come on...not buying it. Claire Danes continues to be excellent and keeps me coming back for more. So, so glad that Patinkin's wife is gone. She was so hideous. It's like the casting crew was looking for the ugliest actor and found her.

    Great show.

If you're going to post current plot twists please use spoiler tags. Put [spoiler----] minus the dashes at the front and [/spoiler----] minus the dashes at the end.

    It will look like this-

He was captured for 8 years - I don't think the "few short months" needs to be that - apart from the fact the child actor didn't change. Who is to say he wasn't in the house for 5 years?

And then, after the explosion, Brody just wanders around looking for Issa. I mean, is there no security?

I'm still stuck on "Issa's death by an errant U.S. bomb." Who says it was errant? The child was living in a house known to have been frequented by a major terrorist.

Moderator edit- no you can't say that
Or should I say, Sure, she's not beautiful but 'Saul,' though he has a nice voice is no great catch, either. /end of rant/feeding the troll

Maybe I wasn't listening closely enough but I thought that the 'vice-president' saying that was supposed to point out that Americans are using propaganda and lies in the war on terror so no, it was not at all an errant bomb

The implausibility of Brody not understanding that in war both sides tell lies is what is bugging me. Since I have no idea what state his ability to intelligently think through this was, I guess I'm going to have to go along with the notion that POW Brody after being tortured for several years by his captors, witnessed a bombing on the terrorist compound in which he resided and had bonded with the son of the terrorist. When the kid died from the bombing and the U.S. gov't spewed propaganda Brody chose to swallow the lies of his captors instead.

This is one episode that was 'off' but overall this Freshman series has really been satisfying.

Well, I could see the meeting at the fountain going pear shaped long before it happened. I'm still not convinced that Brody has made up his mind about being a baddie or a goodie. He *seems* to be leaning towards baddie, but I'm wondering if that is just a red herring.

Moderator edit- I put your comments regarding the recent episode in "spoiler tags." In the future if you post recent episode events please do so prior to posting.

I just watched Sunday's episode. I enjoyed it.
In my mind there is no doubt that Brody continues to work for Abu Nazir though the actor playing Brody (Damian Lewis) continually confounds me with his poker face.

I saw the ending coming, but still really enjoyed Sunday's episode.

I'm wondering how they're going to track down and nab Walker now that he's been tipped off. I'm also wondering if it was really Brody who tipped him off, or whether there is really someone else inside the government like Saul indicated they were thinking.

If Claire Danes doesn't get an Emmy for her role in Homeland, there is something seriously wrong. She is so good. And her character is the reason I watch. My two favorite characters are Carrie and Virgil, followed closely by Saul.

Brody...eh, I just don't like Damian Lewis. His face and hair really bother me. He looks like a pedophile. I think someone else could have been much better in that role. Someone who looks more normal, like a guy who could actually bag a babe like Morena Baccarin.

    Anyway....

I don't like how Carrie was all emotional and dejected when Brody didn't want to be with her. I mean, her entire interaction with him was a spy job. Maybe she got a little attached to him but not enough to break down blubbering over him. And I'm not really feeling the sort of standard fare "bad guy" role that Brody has become; "the evil terrorist." And I think the show could have done a lot more with the Brody-Mike relationship. But oh well. Still, all that said, it's a great show. I'm really enjoying and I can't wait for the final two episodes!

Tully, while that's conceivable, you'd have thought the conversation
with the female terrorist in the car would have gone rather differently.
