Somedays I feel as if I've woken up in an alternate universe. When did we start allowing degenerates to spout hate on a national stage?

Well as far as Cain is concerned just remember he's batshit crazy. He is what Ann Coulter deemed "a smarter and darker and true black man, who had slave ancestors and know his place." So, if he is ok with racial profiling, then the GOP can have a pass at supporting it.

Putting aside his inability to articulate an understanding of basic foreign policy issues, Cain may have been able to survive the sexual harassment allegations and remained a viable longshot, given it didnt seem to impact his core supporters. But the latest allegation of a long-term affair has turned those "family values" supporters against him.

Allegations of sexual harassment of several subordinates evidently was ok; allegations of marriage infidelity is not. A bit twisted, dont you think?

He had a nice run, sold lots of books and provided comical relief and how low the social conservatives would stoop.

It seems the Republican propaganda machine has already pulled out of the garage.

    Rick Perry

What Perry quotes from Obama out of context: "We've been a little bit lazy, I think, over the last couple of decades."

What Perry says: "Can you believe that? That’s what our president thinks is wrong with America? That Americans are lazy? That’s pathetic. It’s time to clean house in Washington.... Obama’s socialist policies are bankrupting America. We must stop him now."

Perry’s press release for the ad even accuses Obama of "apologizing for America and disparaging Americans by calling us lazy, soft and unambitious" (which is false).

What Obama actually said: "There are a lot of things that make foreign investors see the US as a great opportunity—our stability, our openness, our innovative free market culture. But we’ve been a little bit lazy, I think, over the last couple of decades. We’ve kind of taken for granted—well, people will want to come here and we aren’t out there hungry, selling America and trying to attract new business into America."

    Mitt Romney

What Romney misquotes from Obama: "If we keep talking about the economy, we're going to lose."

Who actually said it: A McCain strategist during the 2008 presidential campaign.

Why Obama was saying it: He was quoting, "[McCain's] campaign actually said, and I quote, 'if we keep talking about the economy, we're going to lose.' "

This republican campaign, when we get to the general election, is going to be the dirtiest ever.

What do you mean who? Haven't you been watching? Cain was merely an entertainment front-runner.

Stupidity and arrogance abhor a vacuum. Someone will fill it. I heard old Newt is moving up in the polls a bit. He's always good for a laugh.

And he has some book to sell if I'm not mistaken. So does Bachman.

Presidents must be Christian and published.

I forget the other requirements. Maybe they don't matter anymore.

I was so entertained by the Amazon reviews of MB's book "Core of Conviction" - I'm afraid that actually reading it will be a let down.

Waxing nostalgic for the good old days like the rest of us. When liberals still did liberal things. Now the so-called liberals in "power" are just a bunch of lightweight and ineffective Republicans.

Weeping doesn't help but it feels good.

I politely disagree with you. I believe many in our country still consider themselves to be liberals. The fiscal reality for our government has changed, and with that, so have many of our liberal opinions become more centrist. I certainly do not think of myself as one of, or a supporter of " a bunch of lightweight and ineffective Republicans". The term liberal has permanently been branded to extreme left policies by the Republicans.
With all that said, I feel it is corporate campaign contributions that have ruined any chance of progress, for the average person, in our government.
