in unrelated news....you might in a quiet little town when your ipod gets far better service for texting through the wi-fi connection than the cell phone likely ever will. And that is just through Verizon; with AT&T you are better off using smoke signals.

Most of this town is in a valley. From what I have heard the local Indians used this area as their regular summer camping ground many years ago. If you go up the hills on the edge of town and get some elevation then any cell carrier you could choose kicks in with full service, but that covers a damn small portion of town and dies as soon drop not that much.
Service is good in the major towns around here (Moscow/Pullman/Colfax), but more of the smaller outlying ones way out in the sticks where you have 20-40+ miles one way to town are just as bad as here where it is a five mile drive.
