More adults on Twitter follow Obama than Trump. This will have Trump screeching (in a tweet) that Twitter is deleting his followers!

On a more serious note, whistleblower protection laws include the word "PROTECTION" for a reason....to protect those individuals from retaliation, threats and any form of intimidation.

‘Retaliation in plain sight’: Legal experts stunned by Trump admitting he’s trying to uncover whistleblower ID

TRUMP: OF COURSE I’M TRYING TO UNMASK THE WHISTLEBLOWER!

Legal Experts Drop The Hammer On Trump After He Admitted To Illegally Trying To Obtain Whistleblower ID

Does anyone else foresee Pres Shyster starting a war around June of 2020?

Provided he's still POTUS (he wii be, the Republican held Senate will not remove Shyster from office, even if the impeachment gets that far).

In a Twitter outburst last night, Trump called for Mitt Romney to be impeached for having the courage of his convictions to suggest Trump's actions in asking Ukraine (and China) to investigate a political opponent are illegal.

In doing so, Trump once again demonstrated his desperation, childish behavior and ignorance of the Constitution.

Impeachment, per the Constitution, applies to the president, vice president, "civil officicers" (cabinet secretary level and other senior appointed officials in the executive branch) and federal judges.

In 1799, the Senate concluded that members of Congress (Representatives and Senators) are not "civil officers" for purposes of impeachment.

A senator can be expelled by a two-thirds vote of the Senate. It has occurred fifteen times since 1789; fourteen were charged with support of the Confederacy during the Civil War, one with corruption. Neither would apply to Romney or any senator for simply speaking out against the sitting president.

U.S. pulls troops from northern Syria as Turkey readies offensive — The Washington Post

Oh, this going to be a clusterfuck...

We’re going to be in another war down the line
And so much for the Kurds as allies

Can only hope the Kurds kick ass
And Turkey gets put in its place
    Erdogan loses face
And the Kurds setup an independent nation

But there’s too many factors and variables
It could go any which way

The whole region is a shit show
Almost as if there’s no right answer

The Kurds have been our one main ally in that region without fail and without asking for fuck all.
The fact that we are turning our back on them is disgusting.

Beau from the fifth column has a great take on this.

The stock market is becoming a Trump weakness
President Trump loves to brag about the stock market’s performance under his watch. And for a while, he had a lot to crow about.

But the market has flattened out during the last 18 months, and the performance of the Trump stock market is now subpar compared with six prior presidents. It could end up worse than that, with many analysts forecasting declines, especially if Trump’s trade war with China intensifies.

As part of our Trumponomics Report Card, Yahoo Finance measures the performance of the S&P 500 stock index under Trump compared with its performance under six prior presidents, going back to Jimmy Carter, at the same point in their presidencies. A year ago, the Trump stock market ranked second out of seven, behind only Barack Obama. But now he ranks fifth, behind Obama, Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush and Ronald Reagan. He’s still ahead of the George W. Bush and Jimmy Carter stock markets, after 32 months in office...(more)

Trump, of course, blames the "gutless" Fed chairman, "dumb" business executives and "badly run" companies, the Democrats winning the House in 2018, a "glitch" in the market and anything else he can find that does not reflect poorly on him.

While most economists blame the flat market being significantly a result of his failed tariffs and trade war, worrisome Trump fiscal policies (deficits and debt growing faster than projected), his tax reform not resulting in growth anywhere near the level he promised, other Trump actions (both domestic and foreign, e.g. latest Trump Syrian withdrawal debacle) and a global slowdown.

Unpaid bills pile up in Trump rallies’ wake

But he’s rich...how can this be???

    But that’s Mr T
Blame someone else for any negative
Anything due, it’s someone else’s bill

I guess finances aren’t Ts specialty
    Just collecting

Hey, at least Scrooge McDuck paid his bills too

Y’know, this isn’t the first time he’s been accused of not paying
There are MANY contracts and services he has reneged on

Living up to standards either, if reports on his kitchens and health inspections are true too

I guess not only he’s above the law
    Rules don’t apply
    And only the peons pay
    Blame is bounced

Only thing I haven’t heard of this guy so far is direct murder.
But I guess only the Clintons are accused of that.

My understanding is political rallies and events by both parties have a long history of leaving behind unpaid bills. One article I read a few years back (sorry, no link) mentioned that some hotel chains started insisting on security deposits in advance.

Not that I'm defending Pres Shyster.

    Also yesterday...

Fox News Poll: Record support for Trump impeachment

Just over half of voters want President Trump impeached and removed from office, according to a Fox News Poll released Wednesday.

A new high of 51 percent wants Trump impeached and removed from office, another 4 percent want him impeached but not removed, and 40 percent oppose impeachment altogether. In July, 42 percent favored impeachment and removal, while 5 percent said impeach but don’t remove him, and 45 percent opposed impeachment.

Since July, support for impeachment increased among voters of all stripes: up 11 points among Democrats, 5 points among Republicans and 3 among independents. Support also went up among some of Trump’s key constituencies, including white evangelical Christians (+5 points), white men without a college degree (+8), and rural whites (+10).

Among voters in swing counties (where Hillary Clinton and Trump were within 10 points in 2016), support for impeachment increased to 52 percent, up from 42 percent in July...(more)
Trump today... "Whoever their (Fox News) pollster is, they suck.”

I can't say for sure but I think the situation with the Kurds has done far more damage then even he realizes.
When even Jim Baker turns on you shit is getting real.
And any support he had with the troops is pretty much gone.

On top of the constant drip of compelling evidence in the Ukraine affair and the backlash from the Syria /Kurds debacle, today was not a good day for Trump in the courts....

Of course, Trump will appeal all of the above. In the first case, he is running out of appeals and the Supreme Court may be his last hope.

    Trump is worth "billions."

That's why he doesn't want to release his tax records.

    Yeah, right.

Or he's a lying shyster whose relatively small fortune--when compared to "billions"--is tied to unstable real estate holdings.

If this was back in 2017, I could understand why so many people would want him impeached and removed. But now, unless they can also get Pence removed, it would be a disaster for the Democrats/left, which make up most of that 51%. All of a sudden the current batch of Democrats would need to run against Pence, Nikki Haley, or maybe Ted Cruz. And they know how government works and they know how to play the game.

One mistake the founders made was not making the party of an impeached President forfeit the next election or be hindered in some fashion if the crime was severe enough.

I'm pretty sure Elizabeth Warren could eat Pence for lunch so I'm not worried about that.
Congress has to impeach him or future presidents will think they can get away with this shit too.
If it isn't shown that he has to face the law then presidents in the future will use that as precedent.
    We don't fucking want that.
