So I finally had some time tonight to fire up the PS3 and try out Modern Warfare 3 tonight. So far, I *really* like it--especially how the game incorporates 'hybrid' sights (RDS + Zoom Optic) and tac-reloads. I doubt I'll ever come close to being a Bonafide CAG guy, so it's nice to play pretend from the comfort of my living room. :)

That is hilarious. Not quite ontopic but this was good on there too.
That sounds as exciting as playing a naval simulation where you spend hours opening and closing valves below decks/aligning transfer systems with 162 valves, pushing buttons on fuel oil transfer pumps, and waiting in long lines for food that MIGHT be worth it but probably is not.

Yep. Gets my heart pounding. What system do you play on? I'm on PS3--if you're on add me @ TigerFoxtrot.

I think the chickens in the game is an homage to the chickens from de_italy.

The Campaign is pretty damn good too. Just finished it tonight.

PC. I don't have any consoles anymore. I wish I did, last one I got was an original Xbox.

    I play via Steam.

I haven't played the campaign yet, but am really digging the multiplayer, so far.
The only real gripes I have are the slowness of the running and knifing is for shit.

I like the new strike packages, as I die a lot, and the support package let's me keep building pointstreaks, even if I die.

    It's not bad..

but Battlefield 3 destroys it. I like both of them, and the only thing that CoD does a *touch* better is the multiplayer. It's all a moot point though since it's a barely noticeable thing and the gameplay in BF3 is superior. MW3 will end up gathering dust for me.

WHAT? No way. I bought BF3 and I honestly think COD is far superior. BF3 doesn't model each individual bullet so when you spray the game will count 2 rounds fired but only account for 1 bullet. It's retarded. And the scripted campaign of Bf3 can't hold a candle to MW3.

    Different strokes my friend.

Most people don't buy these games for the campaign. They buy it for overall gameplay and multiplayer. When I add everything up, BF3 is just a much better game to play and look at. I'm almost certain it will win more awards than CoD this year (already has IIRC) and will momentarily knock CoD off it's perch. As I've said elsewhere, once Respawn Entertainment drops something, both franchises will be in serious trouble.

Plus, there are some of us who don't "spray and pray" ;) so the individual modeling of bullets doesn't matter :D :D :D

I'm just hoping Activision will realize that Treyarch sucks and not have them do the next installment. The last two that Treyarch handled were shit - plain and simple shit. Yes, that includes Black Ops.

Yes, Black Ops sucks. And you've obviously never broke contact before. :)

Everyone has had to spray at some point, I just hate the people who make a habit of it. I guess I don't notice the issue you were saying about the bullets, and I can see how it's annoying, but I'm standing by my claim of BF3 being better :)

I'm actually more excited about Bioshock Infinite than about MW3. MW has lost some of it's appeal to me for some reason so maybe that plays into my thoughts as well.

    Quoted for truth.
World at War had a few things I liked, same as Blops, but overall, I much preferred MW2.
I'm thinking I still do prefer it over MW3. We'll see when the new maps come out.
I don't care for any of the original maps, too much.
Of course, the DLC for MW2 was a big let-down to me, so I may be in for more disappointment, as I bought the Hardened Edition, which comes with all of the future dlc. *sigh*
