Beavis & Butthead do America: "GET OUT OF THE COCKPIT!!!!"
South Park BL&U: The opening number that's a dead ringer for the opening number in Beauty & the Beast
Mulan: "I am the Great Stone Dragon!"
LOTR ROTK: "No, my friends, you bow to no one." (Tearing up thinking of that one.)
Lion King: Scar does Leni Reifenstahl.
The Ususal Suspects: The Last scene where the Detective figures it out.
    Avatar: Mech Knife Fight
Kentucky Fried Movie: Catholic High School Girls in Trouble and the scene in Fistful of Yen with the dog "This is not a Chawade". (And really all the rest of it too.)
Return of the Jedi: Slave Leia
Empire Strikes Back: Lando, Leia, and Han are going to breakfast. The door slides open and there's Vader. Han doesn't say anything to anyone. He just draws and fires.
    This scene in The Secretary:

That reminded me - the scene in the Cantina where Hans Solo slowly draws his blaster and shoots the bounty hunter, especially the fact that he raises it a whole six inches to fire.
The f**ked revision to that scene is just one reason I will likely not look at buying any of the newer releases of those films.

fflowley Don't just do something, stand there!

Every time I hear the Cars Moving in Stereo I think of Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
    Phoebe Cates.
    That scene.
I think my naive childhood ended that day.

The one that gets me, from American Beauty, is I think right after that one, and ends with something like "It's a FUCKING COUCH!"

  7. pan6467

    pan6467 a triangle in a circular world.

Love the fight scene. Just one of the greatest movies and comedy duos ever. Never see a Lemmon, Matthau team of that talent again.

"It took me 3 hours to figure out FU meant Felix Umger."

  8. Random McRandom

    Random McRandom Starry Eyed

    best car chase scene evar.

I completely agree and to add another one that belongs on the "great car chase scenes" list.

The chase scene from Ronin is fantastic as well.

on the other end of the spectrum there is the chase scene from They Saved Hitler's Brain - Here is the pertinent clip on youtube. The chase starts around the 6 minute mark.

I have to add an obvious one - Monty Python and the search for the holy grail.
Not even going to try picking just one or two scenes and just add the whole film.

MP&THG, does have a couple stand outs: 1) The Black Knight. 2) I can handle a little peril. 3) Go away or I shall taunt you a second time. (And maybe, Who are you who are so wise in the ways of science, and We could build a large wooden badger...) (And the Whole rabbit scene. And the Knights who Say Ni, And the opening credits.... yeah. Fuck it. That's a nigh perfect movie.)

On the other Hand, though I would say that the Life of Brian is in every way superior to the Holy Grail being accurate enough (with one exception) to be a documentary, that one does have a true stand out: "I have a vewy gweat fwiend in Wome named Biggus Dickus!"

I used "Castle Anthrax" as my location for a long time on the Opera forums. Not that I would seriously choose such a place to live in real life. Even if you have no moral objections, can you imagine the chafing and demands for repeated perfomances? And now for something completely different......my one handed typo writing this (sick and tired 3 year old napping in my lap) just created a sci-fi character named "Xastle". I am thinking a Martian (all Terran transplants or descendants in this storyline) from the 2200-2400 range but time will tell.

Not that virtually every scene in this movie isn't golden:

The Lorenzo St. DuBois number starting around 3:20 is one of the best things ever put on film.

I know women don't really work this way, but this just cracks me up. From "As Good As It Gets"

  15. Freetofly

Freetofly Diving deep into the abyss

One movie scence that makes me laugh everytime. Reminds me of a time when a bat got in to the house and everyone went screaming out of the room. National Lampoon Christmas Vacation is the movie.

The finale in Casablanca - those looks, and especially that second look between Rick and the Police Chief before he says "Round up the usual suspects" effectively saying "screw you" to the Nazis.

No doubt influenced by watching part of TNG "Best of Both Worlds Pt 2" right now on netflix streaming for my own purposes - The scene in Star Trek: Generations where Data says "Shit!" as the saucer enters the atmosphere. Helps make up in some small way for killing the Galaxy class Enterprise because the morons are unable to say "modulate shield frequencies" despite doing this umpteen times against the Borg.

Does the video for Thriller qualify here? It certainly fits the "mini-movie" length.
