That pot of coffee might take a while to brew. The Patriots might not be the dominating force they once were, but they are far from done. I can see them losing the AFC title game, esp. on the road, but I can also see them making it back to the SB, although maybe not winning it. And I'm as sick of Belichick, Brady, & the Almighty Patriots as anyone.

I live in Patriot country and all my friends and family are Pat fans. As you know I'm a LA. Rams fan and have been one since 1968 when my uncle took me to a Rams v 49ers game at the Coliseum. Uncle Don was a life long Rams fan and seasons ticket holder until the moved to St.Louis. Sadly Don passed away before the return to LA.

Wasn't Kirk Cousins supposed to take the Vikings to the next level? Up, not down?

    Fans disappointed:
    Steelers, Vikings, Panthers, Jaguars, Colts.

Fans ready to lunch the owner:
    Bengals.
    Marvin Lewis.

Yeah what happened to the Vikings? I thought they were supposed to be an up and coming team.

The Texans are yet again, for the second week in a row, getting outcoached and outplayed in a very important game. So far they haven't been outscored--only because of two missed PAT points by the Jets.

If they blow this game, O'Brien should be flying home on his own.

Another unimpressive win by the Texans. But a much needed win.

Thank you, Colts, for shutting out the cowgirls...even though I should've been rooting for you to lose.

Now if the Steelers can hang on for the win. Seven point lead, 2:30 on the clock, kicking it back to the Patriots.

The NFL has turned into a bad joke.

As previously mentioned, no action was taken against Eli Manning. Hmm...maybe the fact that he was a starting veteran QB with two SB wins, the brother of Peyton, and is white had something to do with it?

I could point to Tom Brady as a counterpoint, but there is ample evidence that Roger Goodall had it in for Brady and the Patriots.

Kareem Hunt. The initial superficial "investigation" by the NFL makes it clear the NFL didn't want to find any damaging evidence against Hunt. I don't think the NFL was protecting Hunt in particular, the NFL was protecting the NFL.

Eric Reid and the seven "random" drug tests he has been subjected to in about two months. This clearly is pure bullshit. Reid is being targeted.

In the big picture it exposes the NFL drug testing as a really bad joke. Anybody who follows the NFL has heard/read the question, "Why haven't any starting QBs been suspended for illegal and/or banned drugs?". I'd add WR to that list. I'll add this question, isn't it odd that so few players banned for PEDs don't get caught again--if at all--until long after their initial suspension?

Kaepernick. Yes, this has been beaten to death. The list of turd QBs active in the NFL proves that Kaep is on the unwritten Do Not Sign Kaepernick mandate being honored by all NFL teams.

Setting aside the collusion lawsuit, the situation does present an interesting case of an employer's right not to hire a known "troublemaker" even if that means hiring someone grossly less qualified.

Yes a very bad joke and Goodall is the main problem or should I just call him Joker.

Everyone gets at least one drug test during the season. Reid is counting that amongst his seven.

Every NFL player gets an additional drug test if they start playing for a new team any time during the season. Reid started with a new team Week 5. It seems like he is counting that test amongst his seven.

So now we are down to five "random" tests.

But there is a fun fact about the NFL substance abuse policy. You are never identified publicly until you fail enough tests to be on Stage Three of the plan. At Stage Two you are randomly tested much more often than the average player. If Eric Reid had failed a previous test, then not followed through his Stage One treatment plan properly (which is quite possible if drug treatment activities fell in the four weeks he was out of the NFL early this year), he would currently be in Stage Two of the drug plan. He'd be getting tested frequently. Maybe even every other week. But no one except him and the league would know. There are some NFL insiders who have suggested that Eric Reid's story is much ado about nothing. Two of his seven tests are ones that EVERYONE would have in his case. His other five tests match up with what anyone in Stage Two of the NFL Substance Abuse plan would be going through.

But that wouldn't make for as juicy of a story as him screaming it is a conspiracy targeted at him.

    OK, that makes sense.

Is there any evidence that he is in stage II? I don't know his history. His name continuously showed up in articles regarding unsigned free agents. Given his age & stats, it seemed clear that teams were avoiding him, until the Panthers got desperate enough. Maybe there's more to his story than anthem kneeling?

I'd still like to know why E. Manning got a freebie. The explanation provided by the NFL was pretty weak.

fflowley Don't just do something, stand there!

    Bills fan here.
Under "normal" circumstances the last 12 years, if the Bills had to go play the Pats on the road, after the Pats lost 2 in a row and had to struggle for playoff position, I would expect the Bills to lose by at least 20 points.
And that still very well may happen.
But this is the first time I sense a vulnerability in the Patriots.
The Bills are young enough and stupid enough to believe in themselves and actually have a shot at winning this game.

I think the Bills have a very good shot this time. Brady hasn’t looked very good and Gronk isn’t the same.

If a player is in Stage 1 or Stage 2 the league is bound by the agreement to keep it confidential. Some have suggested that he is likely in Stage 2, but so far I haven't seen anyone claim to have proof.

Don't get me wrong, there is a small chance he is really being picked on here. But if you combine all the likely factors, what could be happening is that he's going through what every other player who both changed teams and failed a previous drug test would go through.

The Houston Texlers SUCK. They blew a huge game against the Colts, and now another one against the Eagles. I'm now hoping they lose to the Jaguars, get their asses stomped in their first PO game, and O'Brien gets fired.

For gawds sake the Browns won, and the Falcons, and....you get the idea.

Oh, yeah, the UH Cougars got flattened by Army. The stupid part is everybody knew the Black Knights were going to run, run, and run. And the Cougs didn't even come close to stopping them.

A thought for Bengals' fans...The Browns turnaround happened after Hue Jackson got fired, and now he could next in line if, if, if, if the Bengals fire Marvin Lewis. Yeah, baby, yeah.

And the Texlers helped the Patriots with a first round bye and home field advantage.

Yes, some other good teams also blew big games. But I'm not ranting about them....LOL!

Now, who has the best chance of booting the cowgirls, and the Patriots, from the POs? Once those two teams are eliminated, the POs & SB no longer matter much to me.

Obviously I have no hope for the Texlers in the POs. It's possible they might slip by a weak team...or not.

EDIT: If the Texlers do meet & beat the Patriots, I'm back on the band wagon.

Well the Texans won their name back thanks to a very strong defensive effort. The offense was...adequate.

Now the Texans get to host the red hot Colts on Saturday. Uh oh. I couldn't root for the Titans, who would've been a much weaker opponent.

Four head coaches have been fired. Who will be joining them tomorrow?

I always got a sense of arrogance from the Seahawks. Now I'm rooting for them to beat the 'girls.

    The good:
The Bengals fired Marvin Lewis (finally, and don't believe the mutual decision BS).

    The bad:
Hue Jackson could be hired as the Bengals head coach. It's a distinct possibility.

OK, Texans, time to prove that you're a real playoff time.
