The last thing a nation that's $14 trillion in debt should be doing is printing more money to give away to poor countries. Then again, our government already spends nearly half of our GDP, so what's another 1%, right?

 

Just another example of why the Paul crowd is on the losing end of most issues.

We dont have a debt problem because we spend 1% of the budget ($30 billion) on foreign economic/humanitarian assistance. We do have a debt problem because the Bush tax cuts for the top 1% cost $3 trillion, and if made permanent, would cost another $3+ trillion over the next 10 years.

 

My point was more pointed at the lack of perspective of the OWS protesters. They call themselves the 99%...well, as I pointed out, they're not.

There shouldn't be, either. Obama has continued to stack the deck in favor of your pet causes. You should be thrilled.

 

I really doubt that Obama would continue the second term the way he played through the first.

Many people from all camps have disagreed with me, but I hope he played safe in the first 4 years so he could whip out his real attitude and bring some serious change to US domestic and foreign policy.

 

Well, Obama will tell his constituency what they want to hear, just like he did 3 years ago. I'm sure the promises he makes on the campaign trail will be lapped up by his sheep.

On a related note, all you libertarians should quit bitching about tyranny because the fact that there are more repressive governments than the US out there means that the idea that US citizens aren't free enough can only be a result of a lack of perspective. I mean, US citizens are in the 1% of freedom.

 

if that's true, eddie dear, it is a testament to your obtuseness. sort of on the order of your delightful and informative allocution "no sweat off my sack" which i take to be a tag phrase by which idiots identify themselves and recognize each other worldwide. or maybe on the order of your paulbot "i hate ows" meme of the moment followed by a string of sophomoric one-line posts the reading of which is like walking past one of the inmates in a monkeyhouse only to find they're throwing shit at you.
