DAKA DOING VERY NICELY, THANK YOU

I only discovered this stuff a few months ago.
I'm enjoying the white bread as toast, and french toast...I'll get to the others...

We're picking the teen up from college and I think having dinner out as a family tonight. I've been off painting models about 3 nights a week, and they have stayed in, so the kids some time to hang with us outside of our house.

My wife has been experimenting with variation of chicken cordon bleau. Tonight she stuffed the breasts with ham (OK, lunch meat) and muenster cheese, and coated them with a batter of herbs and crushed fried onions. Baked for around 50 minutes.

Lima beans. Whole wheat penne noodles.

Portobello mushroom caps brushed with Greek dressing and stuffed with sautéed ground beef, Vidalia onion, minced mushroom stems, spinach, Dodonis (sheep and goat milk) feta, and tomatoes, topped with feta and seasoned with Magic Mushroom seasoning and a custom seasoning mix from our Greek butcher, before they closed.

Greek roasted sweet potato chunks with orange juice and garlic.

    Homemade lactose-free tzatziki.

    And Skouros St. George wine.

I'm taking over this Mediterranean cooking thing. Since I got a good handle on Korean food. Simple, healthy, tasty.

For Mrs. Daka's birthday we had Dinner at Capitol Grille...Mistake was ordering a first course...Lobster Bisque....(shoulda' stopped there) but we had 2 10oz Fillet Mig's, a baked potato (must be 5 pounds) and an order of sauteed mushrooms...
After the soup, we could have done without the second steak...the Potato and the Mushrooms....so
EVERYTHING came home....last night I "nuked" the potato we had a Caprice, and a bit of the steak sliced up.
Tonight we had omelettes with cut up steak, mushrooms and cheese...so basically 3 meals out of the dinner out...

Tonight...Salmon (from Costco) marinating with dill, honey and lemon, making a sauce with yogurt and oven baked potato's , we have cut down quite a bit on our eating.
As we get older we seem to eat less....last night at HH I had chicken livers in a glaze of reduced port wind on baby spinach...one and a half Blue moons and home by 7:30.....boring.....

Homemade meat sauce (based on a recipe from a Home Economics cookbook published in 1972), over spaghetti squash.

Undetermined. Maybe a Digiorno pizza, with added goodies, or Hartz Chicken buffet (stop laughing! LOL).

I had my first taste of fried sugar toads tonight and I was hooked!

No, not toads, puffer fish aka "chicken wings of the sea"

    Tonight was Israeli.

    Sababa

Harissa-Marinaded Chicken Thighs Kebabs and two shared small plates - Charred Eggplant (w/Herbed Labne, Pomegranate, Pistachio) and Roasted Halumi Cheese (w/Dates, Honey & Charred Lemon)

I was a bit underwhelmed. Kebabs were okay, the Roasted Halumi was too sweet for me and I'm not a huge Eggplant fan to begin with, but the pistachio and pomegranate did add a nice kick.

I did enjoy the Konafi Cake for dessert.

Just thawed a bag of fillets from this beast.
Wife preps it with a home made bread crumb/parmesan cheese/garlic/parsley crumb. Then baked. Yumm.

Probably in the top 5 of all time tastiest fish.. That measured 1100cm and weighed 18kg. Caught in 30m of water ofg our west coast. [IMG]
