    So sorry man.
I hope the balloons and COWs (Cell On Wheels) that they are getting out to return cell service along with the generators to recharge the phones will change that soon.

Trump to Executive Branch: Don't Worry About Puerto Rico

    No...duh.
Although this is political, about Trump...I didn't want this to go into politics.

Because this IS about Puerto Rico.
The focus should be on them...their needs
    This tragedy is their woe.
And how the mindset of other are affecting THEM.

And not about some jerk who doesn't know how to do his job or pay it forward.

    Yes he fucking is.

Trump attacks Puerto Rico, threatens to pull emergency responders

President Donald Trump slammed Puerto Rico Thursday, threatening to pull emergency management workers from the storm-ravaged island — drawing immediate wrath from furious Democrats who charged he is treating Americans there like "second-class citizens."

Trump tweeted, "'Puerto Rico survived the Hurricanes, now a financial crisis looms largely of their own making.' says Sharyl Attkisson. A total lack of........accountability say the Governor. Electric and all infrastructure was disaster before hurricanes."

(It wasn't clear why Trump referenced Attkisson, a conservative journalist who has repeatedly defended him.)

"Congress to decide how much to spend.......We cannot keep FEMA, the Military & the First Responders, who have been amazing (under the most difficult circumstances) in P.R. forever!" Trump wrote in another Tweet.

    SAD
This is How the Pentagon Spun Hurricane Maria

    Trump...THIS is what "sad" is...
Not pathetic as you mean it...but doing evil by neglect THEN covering your ass for it.
This is why bridges fall...this is why people die.
    An inconvenience.

    VERY COOL!
In Puerto Rico, Tesla is doing what Donald Trump isn’t

While this "may" be a touch self-serving...I really don't give a flying fuck.
They would be getting some great infrastructure improvement and increased efficiency.

This would like blaming Edison for profiting from pushing the electrical grid and other innovations like the lightbulb in the turn of last century.

I hope they take this leverage the bejeezus out of it and stick it in Trump's and every other neglectful leaders' faces. (government, corporate or otherwise...)
And I hope it is as true as this article implies and Musk follows through with it.

Hell, put another damn battery factory there, it may be cheaper than the current.
Or even test SpaceX there now.

Still Waiting for FEMA in Texas and Florida After Hurricanes

I guess if that's an A+ I'm sure that we're talking B for Puerto Rico.

FBI opens inquiry into Whitefish's Puerto Rico contract

Although, it would be ironic that Trump could be impacted by this...after he gave his administration a 10 in dealing with Puerto Rico. (and in reality ignoring it in relative terms)
Whitefish makes for a good "Watergate" headline...media would eat it up (no pun intended)

This is the thread that made me decide I’d try out the TFP again. (I was curious if it was still around but hadn’t bothered to register.) Puerto Rico’s not exactly a hot topic on the other message boards I’m on.

I work in a field sort of tangentially related to disaster work. We’re busier than ever before and the only time that comes close was 2005-6 after Katrina Rita and Wilma. I know someone said this thread needs to be about the continued suffering and conditions there (which is shockingly barely being reported) and not politics, but... there’s a big discrepancy in how the federal government is treating PR (and to some extent USVI) compared to TX and FL. At first it raised eyebrows in the office, and then attempts at rationalization:

“surely this isn’t just Trump and blatant discrimination because he’s in a spat with the mayor of San Juan, right? There’s got to be an explanation for this that makes sense, right?”

Questions were asked and unanswered. And asked again until those asking were told by that agency to stop asking. I’ve been in this field for over a decade and that was the most bizarre wtf shadiest thing I’ve ever heard coming from a government official. I can’t help but think that politics is exacerbating the terrible situation in PR. It echoes the article posted above that Trump told federal agencies not to worry about PR or something.

    Welecome back @DY157
I've been on the inside of government...sometimes all it take is one asshole to screw over a whole thing.
They don't even have to be at the top.
There may be no rational reason...just bias and arrogance.

It is only the diligence and consistency of the "heroes" within, playing Whack-A-Mole tamping out the stupid...and re-establishing what was undone.
This is where a lot of our time and money gets wasted...and others lose out, causing havoc.
