Nebraska Huskers held on to defeat Indiana yesterday 27-22 giving Nebraska a 6-0 record for the first time since 2001, and a #8 national ranking. Nebraska has a bunch of issues the makes it look like they are not exactly championship material. My neighbor says that the difference is that last year they found ways to lose, this year they're finding ways to win. At midseason, they've already won more games than all of last year. Go Big Red!

Things are looking shaky for the Cougars.

They pulled out a narrow win over an unranked team...
...with some help from the officials.

I enjoyed watching the aggies lose to the Crimson Tide. Fortunately I didn't see the score showing the UH Cougars losing to the SMU Mustangs. That was inexcusable, even if the Cougars are an overrated team.

The good news for the UH is Tom Herman's stock probably fell a bit; the bad news is he might decide to jump ship even sooner.

I know that penalties supposedly even out....more or less....but the Buckeyes got screwed on two non-calls. The early non-call--and non-ejection--for tarketing, and the non-call for PI late in the game. BTW this is coming from someone who rooted for Penn St to win.

Ryen Russillo just said on his ESPN show that someone was reporting Tom Herman to the University of Texas is now a done deal and will be announced shortly.

    Guess we'll see soon.

Nebraska Cornhuskers are 7-0. That's seven wins in seven games. When the season started nobody would have thunk that.
This Saturday they play at Wisconsin, so, we'll see...

    I wouldn't be a bit surprised.

Strong was on thin ice before the longhorns ever played their first game under his reign.

Well, Nebraska lost a hard fought game against Wisconsin, 23-17 in overtime. I know it's sour grapes, but the officials missed a blatant pass interference on Nebraska's next to last offensive play. Huskers proved that they could play with the big dogs, even in a tough loss.

Everyone here is trying to forget last Saturday where the score was the hammer (Ohio State) 62, the nail (Nebraska) 3.
Huskers hope to salvage something with a good showing against Minnesota this Saturday, but morale seems flagging.

The Cougars managed to win despite Ward being injured and taken out, and having to go back in.

And the aggies and longhorns lost :D.

    Damned Cougars.

They beat Louisville soundly, which included making 11 sacks.
Then they get into a slug-fest with Memphis and give up the late TD.
And now we're left hanging to see what Herman is going to do.

Chances are very good Strong will be out at UT after the meeting scheduled for later today. Although it would hurt the Cougars, Herman would be stupid not to grab the big money while he's still hot. Why risk having another declining season with the Cougars?

ESPN is reporting that Strong is officially out.

The Hawkeyes (spending as much time as I do in/near Iowa City, I root for them second only to Oregon) rolled Nebraska. What they did against Michigan and Nebraska is what I was hoping they'd do all year....

And @Chris Noyb 's last point just became reality. ESPN is reporting that Herman is going to be the next coach of the University of Texas.

Bet the dude got PAID for that.

And it's official: Tom Herman is a Longhorn....again.

I read several reports. Apparently officials at UH were a bit cold toward Herman once the LSU and UT rumors reached the must-be-true stage. This smells a lot like sumlin's mishandled departure.

Ed Orgeron was also named the HC of LSU (had been interim HC), and it's apparently public knowledge he wants to lure Lane Kiffin over as OC.

And what a game in Columbus today.
