I'm going to see Come From Away tonight.

On 9/11, 38 planes with 6,579 passengers were diverted to Gander, Newfoundland. The play is a musical of how the locals and passengers came together under the most trying of circumstances.

It's pointless I know, why can't the red and blue just work together for the help of the population. Not every answer to a need is black and white. In relationships you have to give and take. I'm tired of this election already. Trumps dumbass remarks and facial expressions, Clintons lying and cheating. And it's not just them it's been going on for as long as I can remember. Your Democrats or Republicans where's the in between? Common sense for the common good. I truly believe that the country is so twisted there is no fixing it. We have to live with it and stop it from getting worse. Managing our illness as my doc would say...there are 100 Republican men waiting to fight at work first thing in the morning, I don't even want to go.

Happiness is finding the right box to carry your stuff when you cash out at CostCo.

I look for boxes while I'm shopping at Sam's Club, in the empty box bins throughout the store, or I usually pull them off the shelf. Hoping to find the "right" box in the bins at the checkouts is mostly wishful thinking.

But they do work together. They both do everything in their power to keep people trapped in just enough debt and struggling just close enough to poverty that they can't do anything but desperately try to keep their head above water.

Republicans and Democrats are just a choice between Jesus or Feminism flavored corporate plutocracy. The republicans use free market and anti-communist rhetoric to keep people pitted against each other and acting against their own interests, the democrats use identity politics to do the same.

    Bullshit.
You can blame a party all you want but the fact is that if you want to you (and I mean both the individual and collective you) can change the course of that party.
Here's the deal, it ain't easy and not many people seem to want to put in the work.
If you get involved in you party at the local lever, go to the meetings, make your voice heard, volunteer, you can usually work your way up pretty quick (they are starving for people who want to do the work).
If you can turn out a bunch of your friends on a regular basis and vote in the meetings you can move the needle.
Once you've got the local, then you can work on the national.
It doesn't happen fast and it is a slow grind but it is easier than changing the mind of a country (and the people are normally nicer).
It has been done in the past and it will be done in the future.

Apparently the correct answer to "What would you do if I won you a trip to Napa Valley?" is not "Let you go with me".

She did say if she won ME a trip (which is unlikely to happen, but it's a cooking contest, so maybe she will.....).

Sanders tried that. Total media blackout, massive nationwide electoral fraud and voter suppression, and the guy that leaked DNC emails about it was assassinated.

Bernie's new organization, Our Revolution, is up and running and has endorsed nearly 100 progressive candidates across the country, most of whom are running at the state level.

I vote at every election for the people that I think best match my thoughts. I know that I can change things locally. And hopefully that will change some things nationally. I fall from grace when I don't understand why things are. For example our local County Sheriff election is party affiliated. They run as Republican or Democrats, this last voting cycle was the primary, nobody ran in my party so I didn't get a vote. However I do get a voice in November. I personally would like to see an abolishment of all parties and make it one vote per eligible person and the winner gets the office. All the way to the President.

Bernie wasn't a Democrat the beginning of the election cycle and he was never running to win (but came closer than anyone expected) he was running to push Hillary to the Left.
She won by the rules, and by standard methods within a party, which a part of the effort to get the most electable person on the ballot (which doesn't always work, look at what the Republicans got stuck with).
At one time they didn't have primaries, the parties picked candidates and you got to vote on them.
    Would you prefer that?

    And seriously, tinfoil hat much?
Please tell me you aren't one of those people who believe Hillary is having people killed.

Pretty sure "the rules" don't include suppressing over a million ballots in california alone chief. And please tell me you aren't one of those people who believe it's a total coincidence that people leaking DNC emails proving they were flat out selling government offices and rigging the election just happens to have been "mugged" despite all of his valuables and cash being on his body.

I just spent an entire work day from my bed, working beside my husband, who was also worked from a laptop on our bed. Writing this dissertation while my husband has pneumonia feels a bit like a LAN party.
