    CinnamonGirl The Cheat is GROUNDED!

    Feeling restless and agitated.

It occurs to me that all of "my" friends live in other states. There are "his" friends, and "our" friends...and friends that started out as "my" friends" that are now "our friends." But not really anyone that's just "mine." And I realize I'm kinda babbling, but I really just want a friend to hang out with or go dancing or sit by a bonfire and talk and laugh. But I'm terrible at meeting new people, and I'm awkward and shy around most people anyway.

I also realize part of this is stemming from the fact that I miss my BFF and I'm also a little homesick. Haven't seen her in person since the beginning of 2015, haven't been home since Christmas of last year. Grr.

    Exactly.

And the quality of products within a division can vary greatly. Let's say GE (or Mr. Coffee, or Black & Decker, or etc.) offers a couple of different models of simple coffee makers. One model is made under license at one plant and could last many years, the other model is made under license at a different plant and might last just a couple of years. To further muddy the water those same models could be offered under several different brand names.

FWIW the laundromat near us uses Haier washers & dryers.

Eden & I hadn't really had a "regular" day off together since we worked together. I had this past Sunday off, and we went up to Asheville to see a friend and then just walk around downtown. It was nice.

I asked my boss if I could regularly have Sundays off, and he was not agreeable. We aren't busy on Sundays, there's really no need to have ALL FOUR OF US working. And since I pretty much have no other schedule conflicts and regularly pick up any shift that needs covered, I'm a bit miffed. C'mon, man, I work 13 hour shifts when needed, I closed every night last week, and I'm working doubles and opening AND closing shifts this week.

    It's even worse than that.
A company like Honda (small engines, not the car company) makes high quality, expensive products and sells them through authorized Honda dealers.
They also make forgettable crap and sell it through the big box retailers like Home Depot for a lot less money, but with the same brand name. But it's not nearly the same quality as the stuff you get from your local Honda authorized dealer.
    Anyone confused yet?

Honda is another good example of what I described above.

Honda actually makes some of their products, assembles others, and farms out their name on occasion. Just because you like Honda cars doesn't mean you can expect the same quality from Honda power washers. Or vice versa.

After the shit I've been through lately could kinda do without it, thank you very much.

I cried when our local 99c Only store closed.
I told myself that I shouldn't be so attached to that store, that it's ok, that I'll find that stuff elsewhere...
A couple months later and it still hurts to drive by where it used to be.
Yes, I used to shop at a 99c Only store with my mom every time I visited her, on the way back from her chemo treatments. Every time I walked into the store here, it was like a little taste of home. But more than that...
The grocery stores nearby no longer have the competition to keep produce prices low.
What's worse... the few small discount/thrift/dollar stores that are in that area are now very picked over every time I visit. Every time I go into the Dollar Tree, entire aisles are bare. At the thrift shop, I can only seem to find broken and exceptionally battered toys now. And what's worse... I feel guilty when I do find something decent, and end up putting it back, because I feel like I'm stealing the deal from someone who might not be able to save up for a new something-or-another, like I can.

It's heartbreaking for me. I have no idea what to do with this heartbreak.

Update: I fiddled with my wording ^^^^ a bit, then sent it in to their customer care. Actually got a response! The first bit was a form letter. The second bit is actually quite good. In a different font type and size:
And signed by a real person, with contact information. Neat.

Thanks for this complaining thread, it actually made me feel productive today.

Sometimes I forget that most people aren't morning people.

It comes in handy sometimes. Like hitting a usually-picked-over store just as they open. Or getting last-minute doctor's appointments. But when you have an incredibly social 3 year old, and the only reasonable time to take her to the park is 7am, she gets disappointed that there aren't other kids around.
Today I made an appointment with a friend to cut my daughter's hair tomorrow. I was going to set it up for as soon as they open in the morning, but she hesitantly asked me if it could be closer to noon because she doesn't really want to go into the salon so early if she doesn't have to. Just because my girls wake up at 6:30am every morning, and we're all ready to run out the door by 7am, doesn't mean everyone else is. I've started to love stores that are open 24-hours so that I can purchase needed craft supplies or groceries or whatever we need to get our day under way.

You could move to Washington because that's WAY closer.

I keep offering to give my husband my phone. His screen is cracked pretty badly, and seeing as how I live and work at home, I really don't see a need for a phone right now.

You could go back to something that's just a phone, instead of the "center of your digital life."

    I have one of these:

    Samsung-Gusto-2-picture-4-366x300.jpg
    It's just a phone. It's not a "device" and I like that.:)
It does text. I've used that occasionally.
I pay Verizon about $5.37 per month for about 40 minutes. I like that.:)
It has a camera. I've never used it.
It cost me $49.99 with no contract. I like that.:)
    Sometimes people laugh. I don't care.
Many of my friends and acquaintances pay the price of a share of Berkshire Hathaway (BRK-B) stock (or more, price today $144.18) every single month to service their "device dependency." I laugh.:D

Up since 4:30 after anxiety nightmares. Pretty sure it was the combo of melatonin and my anxiety. Went to bed at 9:30ish and woke at 0045 exhausted and tired of laying down. This is not a good cycle for me.

The drill press operators would sometimes drill the holes around the flange too small, and we would have to sand out the ones we used as guide holes to anchor the part on the Jig Mill. We would argue with the supervisors that that should be done on a yellow ticket so that the time wouldn't count against our production quota. It wasn't a big deal on a part where our work took several hours, but it was when our work was fairly simple and we were expected to machine a high volume of parts our during shift. The drill press operators and supervisors would get POd at us, but at least we made the problem known in a way that couldn't be ignored.

Well she-ot, I got through the parts and scrapped one. I only had 12 holes left to drill. Fuck Fuck Fuck. Then my supervisor recorded that piece under my number. Something just unfair about it. Okay so they came to me salvageable they should have left me in good condition. After all the work and 1988 holes later. I wouldn't have even been doing that work if it weren't for a previous error. OK so that's the job I get paid for. I fix other people's mistakes. It's always live or die, maybe not die but at the very least seriously scared. He asked me " Chris what do you think you could do, so that when this happens again you won't scrap one of these? "
Truly there are 3 or 4 guys that could have fixed them parts. I had to write it down and turn it in on a form that he handed me.I didn't have an answer for him or on paper. My Gawd that place is changing.
