Pointless Announcements

I was called the "nuclear physicist of computing mechanics" today.

Hey, nice sideways compliment for my knowledge from the Enterprise Architect while he's explaining the new Forms Engine to all the developers. (and looked back at me and said I can explain how the DB works)
I'll take it where I can get it...I'm too used to being beaten up.

I seem to be on a roll with wins this week...but they've been spontaneous, hard fought, in the spotlight.
I'm pooped, worn and I'm waiting for it to all change.

Glad but I think I'm going to put my head down and stay out of the way when I can.
My instincts are saying a storm is coming...I'm just happy to have an umbrella and the sense to get out of the rain.

Staying tonight at the Hampton Inn in Sidney, Nebraska. Sidney is the headquarters/home of the Cabela's sporting goods chain. I own Cabela's stock (CAB) so I want to check it out. The stock has made a great recovery from its nadir last fall. I'm trying to decide whether to get out while the getting is good.

 

I tell you, it does a man's ego and morale good after some random variety of ladies periodically grope you and tell you your "muscles look good" when you go out clubbin'.
Sure they're likely plastered, but it's a compliment all the same.

 

Today marks the end of my summer.

 

At 5AM I heard The Beast get out of his bed and go lay down on the couch.

5 mins ago I heard him get off the couch...............to walk back down the hall to his bed.

Still hasn't went outside this morning. He knows it is raining and doesn't like being out in it. Some days he's gone until past lunch time without ever wanting to go out. Must be all bladder.

 

He's cool with snow. Rain not so much.

Sometimes if we know we'll be gone for most of the day we'll make him go out in it. He's been known to run to the fence, lift his leg for 1-2 seconds with nothing coming out, then run back to the door. He's too smart for his own good sometimes.
