do women with big hips get fat?

i like this woman and she has big hips, im not sure if it is harder for her to stay fit.

I have big hips. I have been 224 pounds and I have been 128 pounds a year later. I'm not sure that it's just hip size. It's lifestyle and choices. And a little genetics.

Maybe more than a little genetics. Most of my female close relatives (sisters, cousins, aunts) who are genetically Nordic Scandinavian or Balts, tend toward the small butt 'inverted triangle' body type (aka boyish with tits) rather than 'pear shaped,' especially when younger. In older age tending toward more belly fat than butt/hips fat. My late aunt Darlene was probably a perfect 36-36-36 figure.;)
If you want an idea of what she might look like in the years down the road, take look at her mother.

Well I don't know, but I've been told that big legged woman ain't got no soul. But fat bottomed girls make the rockin world go round. I feel like these two things ought to be contradictory somehow.

I do think lifestyle plays more into it. A healthy woman with big hips is probably more attractive than an unhealthy woman without big hips. She'll get fat if she doesn't eat right and/or doesn't get enough exercise. Her body type might change how she carries the weight a little but it won't in and of itself cause her to get fat.

That's not always the case. My wife, her brother, & one of her sisters have their father's body type; her other sister is the only one of the siblings who has their mother's body type.

Are you looking for someone to date? Or livestock to invest in?

The honest answer to the former is the same as about 90% of the relationship/dating questions that get posted here. Communicate. Learn what her interests and priorities are, and communicate yours. If she is driven to take care of herself and stay healthy (which encompasses more than just weight), if that is a priority to her, she's more likely to succeed. If she's not, she's less likely to. And yes, their are outliers and anecdotal tales of exception for both, for sure. But your best results will come from getting to know her.

thanks, i got a cool low budget 1st date planed. we are going for a bike ride. and ice cream / sandwiches. she has a bike and uses it to get to work. i learned before i was married the 1st time not to spend more than $25 on a 1st or 2nd date. "get to know ya" dates are best right now with her. any advice on questions to ask so I sound intelligent and not a "goober"?

Everyone has a different thought on big hips. My mother can't get thru a set of double French doors without getting a splinter. I KNOW WHY DAD LEFT. ...home repairs.

I probably wouldn't ask her to speculate on whether her big hips make her prone to gain weight....

    Ask her what she's reading.

Ask her what her favourite film is.

Ask her who her influences are.

Ask her what her goals are.

Ask her what her college/university experience was like.

Ask her what her favourite meal is.

Ask her what she hates about dating.

But don't ask her about her hips, because I'm guessing at this point it's none of your fucking business.

Excellent advice; ignore it at your own risk. :)

No worries here, it's all good. :)

But I keep thinking about this, and I've concluded that there really is no tactful way to spin the question.

I don't really understand the shallowness of wondering if someone will change down the road. People will change one way or another, eventually. Are you worried that she will get wrinkles as she gets older? If this is a big worry, then do her a favor and leave her alone so she can find someone less shallow.

If you want a relationship with a person, then find out if that person is compatible. If his/her ass gets fat later, and that's what it takes for you to lose interest then stick with one night stands and paid professionals.

By the way, the word is "retarded". 'Retarted' means you've eaten the tarts and are eating more tarts, which will make you fat, and we all know that makes you less valuable as a person </sarcasm>
