I hit my glutes and hammies yesterday. Every time I do, I'm always thinking I should hit my glutes and hammies more often. #glutes #hammies

I'm still trying to get to the point where I'm hitting them twice a week.

    Week 2, day 2 of C25K.
I still don't like it any better, but I'm running.

Just an easy bike ride today.
Breathe in the fresh air...ponder some imponderables.

Now at a 36 waist, from a 38 (started at a 42, after the ex)

49th birthday workout consisted of brunch at Brasa Brazillian steakhouse. The push aways were intense.

Maybe some pretty good seated table-side bicep curls with fork in hand, eh?;)

One more week and I'm off my meds completely, after which I hope to shed at least 10 lbs. of deadweight that it helped me accumulate over the past year. I'm going to add a fourth training day (one ground fighting class) for the summer, which will help.

Planet Fitness yesterday: bike 30 mins, and 45 mins of lowerbody machines. Today should be a home weight lifting event. Not sure what I'm going to get done, but the big 3 will be hit for a few sets.

Since I moved to England, I have been averaging 30miles a week. My BP is 118/68 down from 130/85 and pulse is down from 85 to 70. Also got my HDL/LDL levels back and I'm totally excited not to have to take statins.

I've gotten back to riding to work again after kind of losing my mojo in that area so now rain or shine I'm doing a half hour to and from work.
So I've effectively added an hour cardio to five days out of my week.

Squats finally went better today. Warmed up more which helped the left knee. Squatted 335x3 and then 345x3. Dumbbell Lunges after that. Wanted to get home, so no hamstring curls and laying off leg extensions for a while. Did standing calf raises as well.
Saw a guy working huge arms but had scrawny legs and calves. Wanted to ask him if he had polio. Work all your damn muscles!

Slacked off yesterday. Tonight I am going to work out at home. Will have the whole place to myself and can collapse as needed.

I went to the gym late last night to do an arm workout
and all I ended up doing is bullshitting and giving worldly sage advice to the staff. :D

Yet I felt strangely cathartic all the same.
I guess I worked out my mouth instead. ;)

I said I'd start running in the mornings again. At the time, I was very excited and motivated to do so (well, I still am. I need to get back to exercising regularly.) I have a feeling I'm going to hate myself come Monday morning, though. Just gotta remind myself that I feel so much better when I have a regular running schedule.

I'm actually running better in the evenings. It's fascinating to notice the differences. I think it's the calories on board and my hydration level. Plus, I'm so freaking stiff in the mornings.

I had an appointment yesterday with the registered dietician from my MD's office, and what a waste of time. She should just spend her time with the old diabetic folks. She's ignorant and completely unwilling to listen to anything, and don't you dare challenge her.

She has credentials, but is completely ignorant about fats, and can't even read a lipid panel. I, for one, don't need dietary advice from a pudgeball.

I'll have more on this later. Makes me angry again just thinking about it.

After being sick a week and taking a week off I finally did something today.

30 min cardio 1 hour of lifting. Bench has suffered a bit since being slack, but I worked it good today, along with pulldowns and arm work.

On the plus side I went for my semi-annual checkup and all my numbers are looking good (except my weight, of course ) my good cholesterol has risen again and my bad is at a very good level. All other blood work is very good. I am on myfitnesspal again to count calories to get the weight down though.

I also asked the doc for some welbutrin(sp?) to manage my stress/depression levels, etc. Too much stuff happening and I am having trouble coping. Yay meds

Work has affected a couple workouts but I haven't lost hope or fallen off the wagon. I just get perturbed.

Yesterday 30 min cardio and 30 minutes of legs/back/abs on the machines. I left feeling wasted. Wonder if I'm tiring more easily because of the wellbutrin...
