There have been many, many posts here at TFP regarding favorite porn, with a fairly large number of people, myself included, mentioning their preference for real amateur porn.

In TFP 4.0--the version that preceded this one--there was a thread where members could post links to specific sites they enjoyed. I know that the current version of TFP intentionally moved away from porn.
My question to the Admin & Mods--Would mentioning specific sites and titles of amateur vids with no links be OK? My thinking is sharing some favorites would be nice for those interested in viewing them

What exactly makes porn amateur in your opinion? This is a question with many answers.

I'll start with some general thoughts, more to follow if this thread takes off.

1. First & foremost, the women need to enjoy the sex. And I don't mean looking at the camera while making exaggerated faces and noises.

2. Of almost equal importance, the people don't need to be good-looking and super fit.

3. I prefer a single stationary camera. Handheld is fine as well, but sometimes that makes the vids "jumpy" to the point of being distracting. Some amateurs are clearly more technically advanced, and manage to make good vids using more than one camera. Having a third person doing the filming is OK (amateur sex certainly isn't limited to just a couple), but IMO this can cross the line into staged sex.

4. I don't like it to look scripted. Knowing beforehand what they plan to do is fine, even expected, to a certain degree. IMO "looking scripted" includes when people change positions as though their checking things off a list. Suggestions from those actually involved in the sex are fine; instructions from someone not directly involved seems pro.

 

When it seems that the people would be having their sex even if the camera weren't there, being that too often pro stuff seems to be for the camera's sake, and it loses something. I tend to like amateur more than pro these days for that reason, but amateur, or even semi-amateur, isn't without it's pitfalls. Ranging from a distraction to a turn off, possibly ruining the entire video with some of these pitfalls. Someone off camera giving directions or making any comments really. Having a tv or radio on that drowns out the sound of the actual sex. I've seen some of the worst camera angles, including being too close up to tell what's even going on. Hearing the click click click of a photo camera going off kills the mood as well, not to mention videos taken from cam feeds and hearing that repetitive ding ding ding noise blasting away because they have they're speakers turned all the way up next to their microphone. I don't expect high production setup from amateur content, it would feel too pro that way, but a little bit of common sense goes a long way.

Perhaps that wasn't so much what I feel makes porn amateur, although those issues are mainly in amateur content, but they're the things I wish weren't included. It comes down to the first point I made, when it has that feel to it that the people aren't just having sex for the camera's sake.

On Porn Hub there's a couple that has posted quite a few videos, and they like input (ha, ha) from their fans. The problem is the sex seems perfunctory, done only for the camera.

I'm leary of exploring unknown to me porn sites. The worse that I've seen on PH is the pop-up for live shows, but I close that quickly, with no ill side affects that I'm aware of. I'm guessing that much depends on what internet security software one uses. It can also lead to some "interesting" emails that you might not want to leave on your computer.

It does take some effort to find the amateur porn. IME once you find it, the suggested vids also tend to be amateur.

A few of the best things to do for protection that are relatively easy, are in your browser with the settings to block pop ups, disable automatic redirects, and depending on which browser, using one of the adblock addons. Not that all adds are bad as gets debated about adblocking, but the ones on porn sites tend to be distracting and annoying at the least, and a security issue at times, particularly on some sites that are perhaps more shady than such large well known sites like PH

The TFP, if I understand correctly, was originally a porn site or forum. And the liberty to share here is the most important part of enjoying this experience.

Sargam, you mentioned clumsiness and conversation, which is great because both are part of natural sex.

I really do like normal conversation during amateur porn, such as when the woman asks the guy to back off momentarily because she's getting too sensitive (such as after an orgasm from cunnilingus), or the guy has to slow down because he's getting too excited (such as she wants him to keep "hammering," but he knows that it will lead to him coming too quickly).

I have to admit to finding laughter kind of a turn-on.

I think the OP's 4 points about amateur porn are pretty spot on. I think the best stuff is when it feels like you're a fly on the wall observing the goings on.

Having said that I don't seek out amateur stuff very often. If I'm going to spend the time to watch porn, I like watching my favorite performers do their thing. Of course if I came across real people having sex and I had a voyeuristic opportunity I would be all over that.
