My mom used to bring home a commodore pet from her job as a teacher. It used audio cassette tapes for program storage. Our first home computer was an apple 2e which was upgraded to 128k new when we bought it. It had two floppy drives which was really convenient when playing Ultima 4 because the game used 4 double sided floppy disks. I also played a lot of wizardry: proving grounds of the mad overlord.

I learned how to play that earlier this year. Lots of fun.

There were two separate cheats. If you had an ibm, which my friends did, then you could remove the floppy when your character was sleeping and it would cause you to rack up experience. So they would have thieves become ninjas and I think cap at at about level 15 or so. I found out a year or two later the cheat with apple. It allowed you to become a level 99 bishop. So you could destroy anything with the Armageddon spell that took a level off your character per cast. But you were so powerful it didn't matter.

Samurai Cop may be the worst movie I've ever seen.

I'll say it again...I don't know what those animal scientists are talking about...my dog knows exactly what she wants, when she wants it.
It's just that I have to figure out what she's asking for.

Just now, she wanted a particular pillow in a particular spot...and she looked at me and lead me bit by bit until I understood.
It's not "her" pillow, it's not her "spot"
But I've been using it to chill on the couch...she's adopted it when I'm not chilling there...just in the last few days.

So, I'm about to go to bed...I've put the pillow back on the bed...and she didn't want to go to her typical place...
I remembered her taking the spot and the pillow....went and got it, put it down in the new chill area...and she immediately settled in, quite comfy.
And no, I don't mind she's laying on it...it's her home too.

I'm glad she's trained me so well. ;)

Was under the weather Monday night/Tuesday. Pretty much slept all day yesterday. Blah.

Feeling a bit better now, but I have absolutely no motivation to do anything. I did finish filling a picture frame collage. That's...about it for the day so far.

70 degrees yesterday, a blizzard today with over a foot of snow. Got to love Denver weather. We actually shut the dealership at 2 today. I'm glad of that because there was no way in hell someone is going to buy a car today. And this was my bell to bell, 0830 to 2100.

The news said it was 18 inches in my town. So over an inch an hour. And a chance of more snow on Saturday.

I made Chicken Paprikash soup for a work potluck.
It's been about 15 years since I made it and one of my coworkers can't eat wheat so I had to do major changes in the recipe but it still turned out tasty.
It's nice to know the skills are still there.

I am so disappointed and angry with North Carolina today.

I saw the news flash on Yahoo, haven't yet read the details. The bad news is I have very close relatives who support every thing anti-gay.

Read about North Carolina House Bill Two.

Houston voters shot down a similar ordinance back in Nov '15.

Dow, Red Hat, and Biogen have already spoken out against it. I imagine Apple and Google won't be far behind.
