Nah, man...all you have to do is have 25 years experience BEFORE getting your degree... ;)

I wouldn't recommend my method to anyone.

A foot of snow at the dealership. Not a single Internet salesman cleaning off or moving cars. They pull from the same stock as we do. Lazy shits. A finance assistant orders pizza for all the guys cleaning off cars. Uses the store credit card. Orders herself a platter of brownie bites. Doesn't dole any out to any else. What a turd she is. I already knew that, but this just illustrates it. Again.

Over 200 miles of I-80 closed all the way from Lincoln to North Platte. Five foot drifts. Snow has stopped mostly, but still 30mph winds gusting to 50mph.

Dude, this is ridiculous. I'm curled up in front of a heater at work, and stripping off all of my clothes and collapsing into a melted puddle at home. The air con at work is stuck on 71*. FML.

Over the past few days at home and in the cars we've ran the heating and the AC. Living this close to the TGoM can be an meteorological crap shoot.

Very weird weather near the IL/IA border yesterday morning too. The car showed 35*. It was raining, and had been all morning. There was a 5-8 mile stretch of I-280 (bypasses the Quad Cities to the S, while I-80 goes to the N) that was a sheet of ice. I came around a curve and there were 3 IL State Troopers parked several hundred yards apart on the shoulder signaling for people to slow down. Along that stretch I saw 4 cars in the ditch, including one on it's roof. The woman in front of me didn't slow down when she passed them. Less than a mile later she was in the ditch too.

The ground must've been cold enough to turn the rain into ice once it hit. But since it was rain (not sleet, rain) most people would naturally dismiss the idea of it being icy.

I missed the comma in the second sentence the first time through. I was wondering what your workmates thought. :p

It is basically impossible to plan anything. I don't know why I bother.

Hubs is pissed... He's supposed to hit the AT outside Unicoi Gap next weekend for a week for cold weather gear testing. The current weather on Standing Indian is rain and 50*.

Not since September. Need to update my avatar.

  12. Some random woman was sitting in my waiting area. I asked if I could help her and she said she was waiting for LT. Ok, she's not really in this office and this is not her waiting room. She then asked if I had seen her. I don't know what she looks like, so no. Why are you in my waiting area bitch. Move along.

    89.7*F, 58% humidity. Inside.
The cats are lethargic. I'm borderline homicidal. I keep asking for reassurance that they're coming tomorrow, for reals. The breeze left.

The Starbucks in my office building closed for good today. The first tenant to leave before the building gets torn down this summer.

Now I have to walk 3 blocks for the nearest decent coffee or drink the crap in the office.

  18. Working on a college campus has its perks. It seems that there are coffee shops in all the new academic buildings. My particular building is ANCIENT, but the one next door is new in comparison and it houses a coffee shop. The BEST coffee is served in the new Science building which is farther away. When I worked for the College of Science, I'd make an excuse to go there any chance I got. I just settle for the Engineering coffee. They are all far better than the library coffee....

I have to go to Markham today. I don't want to go to Markham today.

Isn't the point of having junior team members that they can do all the bitch work like racking networking gear so I don't have to?
