    Happy Belated Birthday, Ralphie.

If I were in your position I'd go to marriage counseling, even if she wouldn't go with you. Might help....

People that drift onto the shoulder of the interstate. They hoover up all the sand and rocks and road debris on the shoulder and hurl it onto the car behind them. Fucking assholes. Stay in your goddamn lane.

    Along those lines...

Can we talk about how to enter a freeway? When traffic on the freeway is doing 65 -- 70 mph, how do you expect to merge when you're doing 45 at the top of the on ramp? The on ramp is there to give you room to match your speed with freeway traffic so you can safely merge. But you're doing 45 and you are not able to merge safely, and neither is anyone behind you. Speed the fuck up!

It's a lot easier to slow down to merge than it is to speed up.

I need a receipt every time I get gas, because my company reimburses me for its cost (even on personal usage).

It seems like lately every gas station I stop at the printer at the pump is out of paper, so I have to walk in and ask for a receipt.

The likelihood of the paper at the pump being out is most frequent when I'm in a hurry, the weather is horrible, or there are nine people already in line wanting to buy scratch off lottery tickets when all I want is the receipt.

Can we talk about asking 20 questions before you buy gas? Lower temperature, crappy touch displays, and my need to get somewhere all seem to increase the number of questions. I'm just buying f'ing gas

But please, don't live permanently in the left or middle lane.
Senator Murphy's Law. Frozen solid windshield cleaning stuff is right up there, too.

I hate the twenty questions and unreadable lcd displays. No, I'm not in your rewards program, I live 600 f'ing miles away!

All of your complaints make me glad I live in a state where other people pump my gas.

I actually don't mind the the zip code entry for Pay At The Pump, an attempt to curb credit card fraud. If I leave or lose my credit card somewhere outside of my zip code, and someone tries to sue for PATP, they'll need to know my zip code. But beat to crap keys pads & screens suck. I also don't mind being asked for a photo ID when using a CC in a retail store; I've seen some people getting seriously POd over being asked.

    45MPH? You're lucky!

The entrance we normally use to get on one of the main freeways is on the left, it enters the fast lane*. Many idiots will completely stop on the entrance lane. Many idiots will try to drive--slowly--across all five lanes of traffic in order to then exit the freeway (they could use side streets and the feeder road).

*I-45 South (Gulf Freeway) @ IH-610 South Loop is the most fucked up mess of bad road engineering in all of Houston, and that's saying something.

    Want something...
But don't know how to go about it.

    Unfortunately, people aren't cooperating.

Sooo...I'm going crazy thinking what is the best path...how to make it happen.
However, I'm beginning to believe I should just let it go.

Sometimes, people will do what they will do.
    Let it go.

But this is much more difficult to train myself to do.
I've lived my life trying, striving, making things happen.
How do I let it go??

    Relax, breathe
And no, I don't want to do it chemically or be in denial.
The key is to let it just happen.

I'm just going to take care of myself.
I'm tired of analyzing, trying to make sense of people.

    Fuck.
Repeat it to yourself asshole...let it go, let it go, let it go. (NOT done to that damn Frozen song either  )

So, there is nearly three feet of unplowed snow in the road in front of my house. Nobody is going nowhere.

I did a great job working that low back excavating my driveway... but I ain't shoveling out the goddamn street.

Seriously hope my job doesn't think I'm going to snowshoe out of this motherfucker to go to a closed airport.
