Recipe Recipe Websites

I have started venturing in to the cooking world. I have made a london broil and found a way to make chicken tenders that the kids like (thanks to Bisquik!). I know there are many of you on TFP that cook, bake, etc. What are some websites you go to for new recipes? I would like to start searching for more things to cook.

 

Damn internet is down at my house or I'd throw you a few myself.

Snowy is right, a lot of recipes are not tested in the bigger sites.

 

Thanks! That is a great start. Lots to look at. I can't wait to try more new things. Even my children are trying new things. This makes me very happy and determined to try more.

 

I really like that allrecipes.com site. It gives you variations on basically the same dish.
The feedback from people is pretty helpful, too.

They have a lot of content, some of it good, but sometimes a bit too fancy for my tastes. They have quite a lot of video's up to with various celebrity chefs (but that part might not work for people in the US, I know IPlayer only works for UK users...)

 

I use epicurious.com all the time. Most of the recipes come from cooking magazines. They also have a pretty good iPhone ap.

 

Though Gourmet Magazine has gone from this earth, their website and all of their amazing recipes are still available here: http://www.gourmet.com/recipes

 

I like the Food Network site too.
We subscribe to Cooks Illustrated, both the print edition and the online site.
I like having the print edition to sit and browse through at a leisurely pace.
The web site is great for being searchable and most importantly I have never gone wrong with a recipe from Cooks Illustrated.

 

One way to deal with the fact that a lot of recipes online have not been tested is to have a look at the comments section. You can find variations and corrections in some.

Thanks for all the sites. I love to cook and like to try new recipes with my woman. I'll post some I have at home, if I can find them... Reloaded pc and lost my links, but I think I can find them.

 

I recently ventured into the cooking world to. Like meny here I like to go to Allrecipes.com.
However I my other favoret sites to go to are:
Cook With Campbell's
Taste Of Home
Kraft Canada

 

My 4 goto sites are as follows:-

Canadianliving.com (they are much like cooks illustrated where they test the recipes and are pretty much foolproof)
cooksillustrated.com (only website I pay for)
bonappetit.com (i used to get the print edition - i should renew it come to think of it)
cooks.com (just a compilation, you will find millions of variations of any recipe. I tend to look at half a dozen recipes and just pick the componants of each that I like and make my own version)

 

Epicurious for something new an interesting.
Cooks Illustrated/Americas Test Kitchen for a good recipe of a well known dish.
