I miss the matchups with UNC and Duke since the Terps left the ACC for the Big Ten. Some of those were classics.

Noods is, unfortunately, out due to the accelerated study schedule for this damn exam. Four to five hours a day for the next six weeks... No days off. Not even ThxG with the family. My brain hurts.

All the more reason to relax for at least a little while visiting with GOD. Have one of those "brain power" shakes (whatever they're called).

It's a minimum two hour drive each way... It just sucks. This thing is running my life. I've been studying since 9:30 this morning, with an hour break to go grab lunch, and I still have 3 more hours, just so I can take time out to drive 10m for a friend's birthday dinner. :( I hate this shit.

A beer could certainly work as a stress reliever.

    Many positive thoughts being sent.

  8. You're worth the drive, kiddo.;) Don't worry about me, though. What you are doing is more important. Business before pleasure.

I just remembered a guy from college, a friend-og-a-friend. He was a little strange, didn't say much to me until he had "studied" me for a couple of weeks; he did the same to others. If he liked you, he was reasonably social. If he didn't like you, he could be blunt to the point of being rude, and was unapologetic. His excuse was, and this is an accurate quote, "I don't have time for white bread people. They bore me."

He swore that a few beers, spread out so that he relaxed without getting an actual buzz, helped him relax and study better. He also believed that since beer was part of his studying, it should be part of his test taking. Seeing him having a beer before a 8:00 AM exam was weird. At first I figured that he was a boozer, which could explain rudeness, but he actually very rarely drank. his You might think "boozer," but the guy wasn't much of a drinker. And he made rally good grades.

Last night the Nebraska Huskers, who so far this season had lost 5 football games by a total of 12 points, came back and turned the tables on #6 Michigan State, who was 8-0. Even in the gut-renching losses the Huskers never quit, and it was the same Saturday night. Huskers scored two touchdowns in the final 2 minutes to win 39-38. Possibly saving new coach Mike Riley's job.

It was an exciting game to watch, and Nebraska's Memorial Stadium is one of the best places in the country to attend a college game. The sound level is incredible.

So one of my twin daughters had her first loose tooth. It was still a couple days away from being ready to come out. It would wiggle back and forth, but wasn't hanging out. So last night I hear this shrieking. I go running towards it. She has blood dripping out of her mouth. She took it upon herself to yank the tooth right out, by herself. The blood is what freaked her out. I can't believe that she just went into the bathroom and yanked it loose. She is going to be one independent slightly weird girl.

Read a horror manga recommended by one of my students. I regret that. I'm going to cleanse my palate with cuteness.

The reason Gattaca is one of my favorite movies
is not because of its styling or concept of genetic improvement
but because it shows how you can SURPASS your given limitations.

What people focus on numbers, scores, paperwork and more...
It's what you DO that is the most important.
The only proof is that you are correct in the long run.
The only proof is your success in the long run.

    Reach for the stars, folks.
    Keep going, keep moving.
    Climb.
    Learn to fall...then climb again.
Know your limitations, then break them.

    Ignore the nay-sayers.
