I took a quick look at the Lions' remaining schedule; on paper  they should be able to get a few more wins. But it might be in their best interest not to.

I'm interested in seeing what happens with two people (other than OB) in the Texans organization, GM Rick Smith and DC Romeo Crennel. Some reports say Crennel doesn't have the talent in the secondary to support the defensive line, other say he doesn't know what he's doing.

I've also decided the UK has better commercials than the US.

For those that don't remember, a judge convicted him. On appeal she stopped cooperating and would not testify against him. It is in the court documents that she reached a "financial settlement" with him to avoid a civil suit. As soon as the financial settlement was paid, she stopped cooperating with the criminal proceedings. The rumor circulated is that she got $10M from him to keep her from testifying.

I think Johnny Football might stand a chance if the poor kid didn't play for such a dysfunctional franchise.

Many rookie QBs struggle with the transition from college to the NFL; rarely does a true rookie QB have immediate success. Some QBs show signs that they have what it takes to develop into productive starters. Others show that they might be competent back-ups.

Once in a great while a QB that was written-off will eventually land with the right team with the right coaches at the right time, and prove the naysayers wrong. This could happen with little johnny, but most of the NFL analysts agree that he has not shown that he has what it takes to seriously elevate his game to the NFL level.

All QBs struggle with the Browns. There's that.

  14. Or, a qb will tease you for years with flashes of brilliance, only to be generally disappointing...Stafford.

This too. I remember Warren Moon, the QB from the CFL, who lead the Oilers to several PO appearances, but no AFC Championship hence no SB. His passing stats are great....until you look at his red zone stats*.

    * Of course I'll post this--relying on my faulty memory--and someone will come along to prove me wrong.

    The Texans didn't lose today.

    ---------------------

I learned last season not to rely on the Eagles, but I sure will be rooting for them.

    --------------------

The Bearcats gave the game away, but the Cougars are now 9-0.

Under different circumstances a close offensive game going to OT would've been entertaining. I sure was happy to see the cowgirls come up short.

Lemarkus Joyner. I haven't seen any news reports re a fine and suspension, but it still early.

I thought that Fischer's comment that a lot of QBs get hit sliding was lame. I'm trying to remember if Greg "Bountygate" Williams was with the Oilers while Jerry Glanville was around.

    --------------------------

How did the Falcons manage to lose to lost to the Bills???

    --------------------------

jackass jerry jones really is a jackasshole. Did he actually see all the photos? If not, he should've. If yes, that makes his comments even more ridiculous. He needs to pay for his stupidity either way. The rumor used to be teams would collude to not trade good players to the Raiders (there was much speculation as to why for years the Raiders could never work out a trade for a good QB) in response to Al Davis being a dick. I don't if that was true, or even possible these days.
