  7. Fusion? About '09? We bought QW an '09 Focus back in the Spring. Manual transmission, heated seats, moon roof, XM radio. She absolutely loves it.

2010, but that's pretty close. 6 speed manual, almost no extras. It has satellite radio but I don't have a subscription. I do wish it had the moon roof, my last car had one and I really liked it. But I got a great deal on this one so I'm okay with it. I wanted something cheap and practical and that's what I ended up with.

I bought remote-control multi-color LED lights for my TV! So cool! I got them for like $34 on EBay. The remote has this neat touch-sensitive color wheel on it that controls the color and fading/strobing/solid-color functions :)

Oh also, the actual lighting behind the TV is much more smoothly blended and less blotchy in real life, I just used my cell phone camera to take the pics :/

It's still going strong... I've collected side-skirts and a rear bumper - I just need to get a front bumper and carbon fiber hood and then get it all to the paint shop somehow! I think I will supercharge it next year sometime if I can manage.

There are not many cars that aren't improved by a manual transmission!:)

If you have sit in a lot of stop-n-go traffic, a manual transmission can be a PITA.

I don't have a strong preference for standard transmissions but it's what rolled my way, so to speak. If I were to ever buy something sporty I'd probably insist on it having three pedals but for a grocery getter I'm not really fussed either way.

Stop and go traffic is a pain in the ass no matter what kind of car you drive. The secret is to get a job that doesn't require commuting.

So far after just over a week of ownership I'm pretty pleased with it.

Some manual transmissions are worse than others. In S-N-G traffic the ones with low ratios in the first few gears (0-10 1st, 11-20 2nd, 21-30 3rd, etc) mean almost constantly working the clutch to up-shift, then down-shift, then up-shift, then down-shift. The clutch set-up also makes a difference. We had a Ford Ranger where the clutch travel was seriously long, more like that in a like a full-size work truck than in a car.

Our Nissan Frontier isn't bad. The clutch travel is relatively short (for a truck) and it's geared so that constantly shifting gears isn't necessary.
