    I must be crazy.

    I drove 92 miles round trip in the pouring rain to buy a bass guitar that had no strings on it. I have no idea if the PUPs & POTs work, or how the neck is going to react to having tension. It was in worse shape that I thought once I started giving it a good go-over. It needed a LOT of cleaning, which included rust removal. I'm going to need to replace a couple of the adjustments screws on the saddles because the bridge and saddles were rusty (I went through shit getting the rust out of the screw holes in the saddles). The screws will come from the hardware store.

    All of that for a Peavey Foundation S (the S isn't a typo). At least it's a "Handcrafted in the USA" Peavey. And came with the OHSC.

    I've got an old sixties Fender Mustang (short scale) bass that I haven't had out of the case for years. I got it in high school but mostly play an upright (upright players like to say "a real bass";) ) Juzek 5/8. It fits my style better, since I play mostly Western Swing and jazz. A slab bass just doesn't look or sound right for that style.

    As mentioned, the cute & HOT violinist is @ DamnitAll. Her concert was mentioned here, and there's a great photo of Plan9, DamnitAll, Lord Eden, Cinnamongirl, & Rogue49 is one of the threads.

    I managed to sand most of the rust off the bridge and the saddle barrels. I'll replace the rusted screws on the PUP covers, but still need to do something about the rust on the PUP poles. And somebody played a lot of slap bass, there are fret 'dents' all the way up the neck and on the PUP covers. If this thing actually plays I'll be shocked.

    @Lindy, upright basses are cool!! Do you play for fun? gigs? recording?
