Chatrooms

I would like to say, that if I have said anything in chat that ranked, irked, bothered or annoyed anyone, I wasnt me it was a chatroom fraud. Until Cynth fixed it. I am innocent, completely pure as the driven snow.

 

My biggest problem with chat is the fact that I'm in the wrong time zone to catch anyone in there.

Maybe if we schedule 'chat meet-ups' for a specific date and time we can get the ball rolling and people actively using it. If you know there are people in there, you're more likely to join in, right?

 

You know, healer, if you posted something saying "hey, mandy and I are going to be on chat on x day at x time (probably need to use GMT) - join us" I think you'd find a lot of folks that would make the effort.

Or if someone else wants to do something specific, that's just as fine. We've had a bunch of folks do different things - show off costumes, crazy hat chat, marital...ummm...relations - so if any of you want to get chat going, you've got the ability.

I assume you mean the concept, not the response. But we haven't had a problem with that happening since the days of Analog - who was probably the cause of it anyway. And the new software has some recognition features as well. You're not required to log in under your own name, but someone pretending to be someone else for a bad reason isn't allowed. But if you logged in as Lordeden then flipped on your camera to say "surprise!", well, we'd understand that was a joke because there was clearly no malice.

Basically, don't hijack someone else's name to make them look bad or keep them from using it.

 

But someone could log on with my username in chat and pretend to be me?

Here I am being paranoid again, but I've had another recent brush-up with that certain someone and it is obvious that he is registered here because he has read my blog...either lurking or pretending to be someone else which he obviously has no qualms about doing.

when I try to log in to the new chatroom it won't accept my password.
And then when I try to get my password emailed to me, it says details not found...??

cyn, I'm in there and that's fine w. me. just take it easy for a few days, weeks, whatever.

 

I was gonna go play in chat but I cant get in!! is it just my connection??? I'm using a public wifi network using satellites or some magic n they block some stuff!

 

What kind of error message are you getting?

 

It's ok it's just let me in!! Yea but no one is speaking anyhow! I was getting page cannot be found messages and time outs.

Sods law I guess since I posted it decided to let me in!

 

That sounds like your connection.

And chat isn't always hopping. Say hi and let people cycle back for a look. You'll get a response.

 

Yea its prob my connection its slower than dial up and slightly frustrating - things like msn messenger are blocked! (luckily I know about ebuddy n the likes). I'm captive on a boat in the middle of the north sea so I guess its lucky we get free internet.

 

What happened to my chatroom, I just get an error
