Leia's also sporting some Yoda/Mogwai ears.

I have a really hard time getting good pictures of Keela. Getting one dog to hold still long enough is tricky enough; I can't imagine trying to do two at once.

"Hey Dad, we're nocturnal, don'tcha know?"
I guess I just didn't get the hint. They weren't let out to hang w their posse.

Since I mentioned Keela, here's one of her from the dog park a few weeks ago:

And bonus picture of Monkey, desperately wishing I'd just leave her alone already:

Yep, both of them are rescues! I started to get into their stories (well, mostly Leia's), but it got really long. Working on a blog post right now :)

In the meantime, here are pictures I took to show how excited they were for National Dog Day:

Edit: Well, shit, I had the whole wall o'text copied, but then I copied over it to post the image. *shakes fist* Blog still coming, just gonna take longer than planned.

Doggy blog. I got a bit wordy, sorry.

I woke them up from a nap when I took this one. They were not pleased.

Keela has officially come to live with us. We've had her a week now.

    CinnamonGirl The Cheat is GROUNDED!

We went to the vet yesterday. It was a huge frickin' ordeal. Leia was a champ...

...but Benjen...oh, Benjen. Poor dude went into full panic mode :( The vet recommended tranquilizers and trying again this morning.

I gave him the pills at 8:00. Here we are, back at the vet, at around 10:15:

As you can see, he's still bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. Luckily, even though he was still anxious, vet + vet tech were able to give him shots & take blood with no further panicking.

A little after 11:00, when we were out of the vet and back at work...the tranqs fully kicked in. Poor guy got up to greet a customer and was staggering. I helped him back under my desk, and this is where he's been ever since:

It's been a rough couple of days for him (and me, I'll be honest.) I did promise him some wet dog food & possibly some ham or other meaty-type-treat, though, so he'll have a nice dinner tonight.

Keela just went to the vet too, today in fact. She's now fully vaccinated. She weighs 27.1 kg and likes treats more than she dislikes vaccinations.

I did not photograph her at the vet, but here she is in the midst of a showdown:
