Apparently this show called "Degrassi: The Next Generation" is being cancelled after 14 years. I had at least heard of the name but had no clue what this was about or anything about it. Wikipedia informs me this was the 4th series set in this universe since 1979, and that "celebrities " like this Drake fellow were on it at some point.

edit: just read the entire wikipedia entry on it and that gave me less incentive than the zero I already had to try to watch any of it. Of course they lost me at the 'airing on TeenNick' part.

The whole DeGrassi franchise is actually pretty excellent.

The actual Canadians should weigh in, though. I'm only honorary.

I have only heard the name "Degrassi: The Next Generation" and immediately thought ST:TNG - not surprising considering that is what inspired it. I suspect that I did at least enough minimal research on this to find out it was not anything sci-fi related.

My instant thought when I hear 'Toronto' are the excellent shows Forever Knight and Kids in the Hall. Loved watching those when they first aired, the windup/series finale for Forever Knight was powerful and very well done.

True story! The actual last name of the gangster Icepick (as played by the fantastic Elisha Cook, aka the gunsel Wilmer in The Maltese Falcon) in Magnum, PI is close enough to my husband's that he would be considered a cousin.

Degrassi was the bomb when I was in the hospital for a month in the 90's. Wheels was cool. Not sure which version it was.
Me and a nice little Canadian nurse did some flirting over Degrassi episodes.

I'm mildly claustrophobic. No real panic attacks, but I definitely get uncomfortable in tight spaces and when crowded.

OMG, almost forgot about them. Now I'm salivating like a Pavlov's dog and I'm a little aroused. That's normal, right?

My buddy brought over some more bbq again. This time chopped brisket sandwiches and more smoked sausages.
I think I'm being used for my satellite tv and I'm ok with that. :D
