Melatonin fail. And the headache that was coming yesterday arrived just in time for yoga. Three clients, two hours of cog testing with an autistic kid, and a report to finish. I miss my hubs. Not sure he misses home.

Do you know how friggin' hard it is to convince people to address the invisible??

Just because you don't see it...or you discount it...or you're unaware of it,
does NOT mean it won't impact you.

Someone claiming there is no such thing as gravity? Or magnetism? Or barometric pressure? :p

Good examples...but not here, just trying to prevent an "Obamacare-like" scenario.
The joke is...this happens all the time. ACA was just a spotlighted victim.

Unfortunately, people tend to focus on format, features and business rules...things they can see.
They forget about performance and capacity planning...and testing.
You may discount it, reality doesn't.

This is why I have a job, I specialize in performance...but you've got to give it time to test, interpret...and take account of everything...and time to fix it.
Otherwise, you're just like a "climate change denier"
Convincing people to make time & mind and effort to address what they don't see is a pain in the ass.
Doesn't matter why or how, it's happening or going to happen...and if you don't account for it, it could care less if you're prepared or not.
    No excuses.

I don't care if you're Mother Teresa feeding starving kids in Africa...if you don't take care of yourself, you die.
    Mother Nature doesn't care.
    Reality doesn't care.
    Computers don't care.

    Everything counts.

That's what I'm bitchin' about today...and trying to coax the staffers and mgmt we need to discuss, account for and address the "invisible things"

    @rogue49

Maybe it's time to introduce psychohistory through Asmiov's Foundation series?

I managed to eat some almonds. The nausea seems to be subsiding today, but the rest is not good. I just feel...yuck.

working too many hours and am tired before the sun sets. my yard and other responsibilities are getting behind. I am on my feet 10 hours at work everyday. when I get home I just want to eat my dinner and sit. next thing I know is...I won't get my lazy ass up to do even simple things.

I prefer the term predictive analysis.
Only one problem...humans aren't predictable...even in groups. (at least in a logical context)
Same reason the stock market isn't...sure you can do it for some time but sooner or later you get your ass handed to you by changes driven by emotion & bias, not reason. It evens out.

And the same happens in business...all the way to the top. (you really think the government is really in control??)
The only reason anything gets done is because of the heroic efforts of some...throwing money at it...and correction over time.
The rest is just bias and saving face...

  14. Love football, but what the draft is doing to my city is really pissing me off. We already are dealing with construction to portions of the rail transit lines and road construction is kicking into gear. The rail projects aren't over until next year and the road construction, lmao, is ongoing. Now we have additional street closures due to the draft. The draft is only 3 days long but they will have the closures up for two weeks. Thanks Chicago. Oh, and it's baseball season. Where on a game day, and trains were actually running normal, it would take an additional hour to get where your going....let's add the rest of the crap to the stack. Smh.

Tweaked my neck yesterday in yoga. Thought it would be okay. Nausea and headaches say, "Nay." Hunt for a new pillow starts today. Again.

Yeah, I had to invest in a McKenzie cervical roll when I wrecked my neck in January.

I'm feeling mostly better today. Mostly. But I have a very busy day ahead. Gym, errands, getting caught up. Hopefully my stomach continues to cooperate.

I said I wanted to *not*.
Fuck you, AT&T. The immediate question does not always have to be, "did you restart the phone?" followed by "did you take the battery out?"
Did you not hear me say that I restarted the phone three times, took the battery out once, and "here are the screenshots of the error messages?"
I'm not stupid. You bitched about my storage and said that was causing my connectivity problems, so I went home to back everything up and move files. Yes, I had more than 2k photos. 1100 were on the SD CARD, some linked from Picasa somehow and a whopping 27 were on the phone. Fuck your idiocracy. I have zero data or cell network connection for more than 2 hours, and it's because my phone's memory is a little less than half full? No.
