Kill the man with the ball! Smash the QB!
    He who leads gets hit.

I finished fucking last among the serious players.....what an accomplishment .
An argument could be made that I did OK for someone who doesn't follow the NFL that closely.

I'll find the playoff list for this weekend. I'll either guess to the best of my ability, or
list scores that are incredibly ridiculous. I'm in a shitty mood, explanation will be posted in another thread.

Good going! Thanks for joining in!
    Great to see ya.

BTW...not to ruin your pissy mood...but you did damn good.
You won more weeks than me and @grumpyolddude
And you only had one less weekly win than @Borla - who happened to win in THREE groups, not just here.
And from what I've seen, you've beaten most of the "experts" and "pros" out there in percentages for the regular season.

So give yourself a break, enjoy the show.
And see if @ZombieSquirrel can beat the fucktards in the post-season. ;)
Cause it all starts from scratch now.
    It's anyone's game in the post-season.
    Wildcard mania!!

Bell being out really has me rethinking that B'more Pittsburgh pick. Hrmm.

Well, you got some hours to change things.
I'm still going back & forth myself.
I think @grumpyolddude put a caveat on his selection too.

There's something interesting things going on.

I dunno. The Ravens lost game 15 to the Texans when they really could've used the win. Judging from the amount of pushing & shoving done by the Ravens' players they were POd at losing. But the Steelers have been up & down all season. My gut says go with HFA.

That explanation looks good, really good, on paper. We wipe our asses with paper.

When score is kept, the points total is what counts in the end. How those points were scored doesn't change the final score.

Now I just need the Lions to prove me wrong.

Man, AZ got shut down in the 2nd half...it wasn't the 3rd string QB so much as the damn punter. (and the rest of the O)

The Steelers have been pretty lame tonight. Of course the Ravens' tight D might have something to do with it.

Take the second leading rusher in the entire league off your team and it is going to have a huge impact. It allows the D to pin their ears back and rush the QB, keeps you from controlling the ball, keeps you from eating clock, etc. Combine that with the solid showing by the Ravens' D, like you said, and here we are.

  15. Y'think? Got distracted and didn't get in here to change my pick. Damn.

I was smart enough to question it, but too dumb to change it. :p

Same here, all the same...there were a lot of significant turnovers in this game.
The games tomorrow seem a bit more straight-forward, IMHO
Today's games, I went back and forth on.

Well, you can still change them if you want. ;)

I still don't know why Kubiak as HC of the Texans & Rick Smith thought letting Owen Daniels go was a good idea. Letting Jacoby Jones go after he flopped when Andre Johnson got hurt I can understand.....although apparantly that move woke up Jones.

I no longer care about my picks. All I need to decide whether or not to watch Destroit @ Dallas. If the 'girls win I'll be miserable.

After the Ravens performance against the Texans and the Browns, I thought the Steelers had a very good chance even without Bell.

By my unofficial count, it looks like we have several people tied with three wins and we'll be going to points scored as a tie breaker.

Looks to me like the reluctant to play @Chris Noyb continued his hot streak and is tied for the win. ;)

    Actually @Borla...you're a bit off.
    We've got an outright winner - @Popeye

As we agreed...it would be full win picks as the primary criteria...then following, the sum of all the estimated total scores for the games for tie-breaking.

The total scores came to respectively: (game, winner, score)
    • Arizona @ Carolina - Carolina 43
    • Baltimore @ Pittsburgh - Baltimore 47
    • Cincinnati @ Indianapolis - Indy 36
    • Detroit @ Dallas - Dallas 44
Sum of total scores - 170

So, @Popeye wins the 1st playoff week, with 4 correct win picks.
Gunning for 2nd, we have a tie with 3 win picks between @Borla and @ralphie250 - with Borla picking the closer of the two from the 170 real game total above...then Ralphie
Following for 4th, a pack at the back, we have a tie at 2 win picks between myself, @grumpyolddude , @ChrisNoyb and @ZombieSquirrel - with me coming in ahead with the closer score total, then ZS, grumpy and CN.

Those scores really make a difference in the playoffs.
Most thought, the AZ/Car game would be the low scorer...but it was Cinn/Indy instead.

None of the games, played as expected...at least what the pros said.
It's a whole different rhythm in the post-season.
    And it makes predicting challenging.
    Wildcard is a good name.

We'll see what happens in the Division playoffs.
Hope to see you all there.
