Thank you Both, even with that clear explanation I just don't get it, that's ok with me. I just like having fun with it.

My simple take based on Borla wrote, & what I've heard & read:

The NFL has a formula for mixing up the matches during the regular season. Some teams end up with soft schedules while others have tough schedules. Sometimes this formula works against good teams. Losses against the wrong teams combined with wins by other teams will leave good teams out of the POs. Teams need to concentrate on winning their divisional games. From what I've seen the exclusion of good teams from the POs is actually rare.

The NFL has a forumla for deciding which teams make the POs. It is "set in stone" and most likely won't change anytime soon.

@POPEYE, are you a Sooners or Cowboys (the capitalization and proper name indicate that I don't mean the NFL team in Dallas) fan?

Boy how' d Chris that is a point of contention in my parts. I have watched men want to throttle eachother. I love to watch a good game. I don't have a side but lean towards the Sooners. I do like our minor league baseball team. The Tulsa Drillers, they just built a new stadium and got picked up by the Yankees as their ML sponsor. If I'm watching a FB game on tv and my team is slaughtering the opponent I'll turn it off. I prefer the excitement of the back and forth. what about you Chris, have a favorite?

My parents are from OK, and I have many relatives there. When I was younger and braver I used to enjoy teasing them about how the longhorns "owned" the Sooners, but that was in jest. I pull for the underdog, so it's the OSU Cowboys for me. As for Texas college teams, I always root against the aggies & the longhorns.

I'm a UH grad, just wish that head coaches wouldn't keep treating the Cougars as a stepping stone job. Except kevin "traitor" sumlin, I hope that he winds up coaching middle school football.

Almost absolutely, barring some freak injury. I predict he'll look slightly better than last week, but still bad.

He's not big enough, doesn't have a strong enough arm, holds the ball too long (and somehow combines that with also not getting through is reads), and doesn't give the appearance of putting in the extra work and study to overcome those deficiencies. He's on the backwards end of the 80/20 rule. He can make plays, due to his legs and improvisation skills, that maybe only 20% of QBs can. His problem is that he can't get the 80% done.

Once again the Eagles let me down. I guess that they don't want to make the playoffs.

Wait, I know what it is, jackass jerry bribed some of the Eagles to play poorly :D.

Were some people here being critical of a certain QB who likes to run  ?

Kaep just ran 90 yards for a TD.

So the Lions are definately in the POs because of the Eagles loss? I can live with that, Lions fans deserve something to celebrate.

OK, Colts, let's see if your smoke-and-mirrors can pull off another magical win today, I really don't want to see & hear the bandwagon 'girls fans.

This ^^^ goes against my rooting for the Texans to make the POs, but honestly I've reached the point where I'm looking ahead to 2015 to see who is going to--more like might--step up as the starting QB. I liked what I saw of Mallet in the one game when he was healthy, but that was one game. I like Keenum because of the UH connection, but after six years of college and two years in the NFL he's still a huge question mark (some might say the question has been answered with a resounding No).

Another ugly win for the Texans, but it's a win. 8-7 is pretty amazing, even with the easy schedule, given their QB shuffling.

OK, I have to give the cowgirls full credit:

They completely dominated the Colts. The 'girls did whatever they wanted, the Colts looked completely clueless.

    The Texans need:

Win vs. Jaguars (very possible) + Chargers loss at Chiefs (not likely) + Ravens loss to Browns (very not likely).

He did, and hurt his leg. I haven't looked up a follow-up report.

The thing is little johhny can't suck playing if he isn't playing. But OTOH fans aren't very forgiving of injuries unless the injury is pretty obvious, so this could work against him sitting on the bench. Grade 2 hamstring strain, might not play in the next game.

I like momentum at the end of the regular season over flashy records. Right now some teams are showing both. And the cowgirls are one of those teams :(.
